Stay safe, East Coasters!

If you live on the east coast and more than two feet of snow in a night scares you - jump off a a cliff and die screaming. This is n00b shiat.

I made it to work safely, but odds are i'm going to be here for a long while.  given the weather reports i'm seeing at this moment, its looking like its going to be one hell of a storm but we'll see.  either way, this building has its own generator and enough fuel to run without issue for roughly a week before we'll need to call for a fuel run.

As for myself, I've got sufficient food to keep me fed for 2 days along with an overnight bag, my sleeping bag and various/sundry toiletries.

i'm stuck at work till someone gets thru the snow to show up for their shift.  I have no idea how long I'll be at work today.  could be an hour over time, could be a double or even a triple shift.  all depends on the weather and road conditions.

Good luck, we are all counting on you.

I will be working. If the owners of my company rented a chainsaw for a day, they would have their finger on the throttle, running it full bore for the full 24 hours, whether or not there was anything left to cut.

Ahh bless them! I was wrong. Wrong! They just called and told me to take the day off.

In MA and there's really nothing happening so far where I'm at. Maybe 3 inches on the ground and I think it actually just stopped. Could just be the calm bef-... never mind.

I apparently live right in the boom/bust area of NJ. Got a few inches of snow last night and now it's freezing rain/sleet/snow. My snow blower is a pain to use in this slop.

I'm close to Giants stadium, and it sounds more like ice pellets hitting the house right now. NJ transit is shut down, so we're probably going to get a bit buried.
One thing is for sure, I'm not going anywhere.

I am low on smokes, but at least it will be slightly cooler today than yesterday, so I might venture out to the market. Damn this warm weather.
Oh, right- you people live where it snows. Best of luck.

Threw some bird seed on top of the snow in front of the sliding glass door so Trip can bird watch.  He's having a blast.

Nothing at all north of Pittsburgh, after we were breathlessly advised for the past 4 days to stock up! stock up!

I want to be a weatherman. It's the most bullshiat profession available.

Sweated the veggies, browned my meat, added spices, and now the chili is in the crockpot.

I put in mushrooms, onions, garlic, chili powder, cumin, ground mustard, salt, pepper, ground beef, pork, chicken, crushed tomatos, kidney beans, black beans, and cannellini  beans.

Pray for me :-)

I brought my work laptop home on the chance that they wouldn't close my work, because as I told my boss, I'm not going to drive 100 miles round-trip in a snowstorm if I don't have to.  Turns out they closed it anyway.

So now I'm sitting here, Farking at home. not doing any coding.  So it's just like work, but without staring at cubicle walls.

I remove the seeds, which adds the flavor without so much of the heat.  My wife is a wuss too :)

I might think about doing that.  When I make chili for a group thing (like a work pot lunch, etc.) I make it pretty mild because not everyone likes their chili really hot.  It's a matter of taste and every one is different.  I put a bottle of hot sauce next to the chili for people who like it hotter.  But I might consider putting a small bowl of chopped jalapenos next to the crockpot next time.

My commute is literally a 10-minute walk, so the fact that I was told not to come in due to inclement weather is hilarious to me (especially as the aforementioned Starbucks was an 11 minute walk away, albeit in the other direction). I'm busy creating test data and coming up with dumb names. The only difference from being in the office is that I have my podcasts on Chromecast instead of in my bluetooth headphones.

Crappy youtube stream from our apartment near the southern tip of Manhattan. Stream. Right now there's about 6 inches of snow, but it is turning to ridiculously painful sleet as we speak.
