(Telegraph)   CAPTCHA no longer asks you to prove you aren't a robot. Why? Well, it's been a long time coming but it needs to be said, robots are people too. Robots should have rights, otherwise they're just gonna kill us all like in Terminator   ( telegraph.co.uk) divider line
More: Interesting, CAPTCHA, barely legible phrase, Computer security, Public Turing Test, little security check, Internet bot, Internet, ticket tout software

Robots have learned to identify other robots.  As long as we can keep them fighting each other, we win.

Yeah, but nothing is going to stop farms of people (humans, they are) working for like $2/hour or something from defeating any of this.  The bad guys always figure a way.

Now how are we suppose to make more CAPTCHA comics?

Creative's damn driver download site makes me do math to prove I'm human.  Math, on a device that designed to do math.

I might be part robot because I've been lousy at determining whether letters of various sizes and fonts are capital or not

I've never understood how the "click here to prove you're not a robot" thing works. Couldn't even a complete idiot programmer figure out how to automate that?

The mouse doesn't move like a human.

So it kind of sounds like the new version of  CAPTCHA is not to prove anything in the moment. But to simply be sure and not delete any browser cache and/or always be logged into your google account to get to see websites.

If i understand what the last sentence of the article means anyway:

"It monitors how users have interacted with a website to date, such as how they clicked the "submit form" button, how they have moved the mouse around, as well as any past data Google holds on you. "

Cause no history means, can't knwo, means gonna need an in the moment test, not an assumption.

Like I said, even a complete idiot programmer could figure this out and automate it.

I have wondered about this too. There's all these CAPTCHAs out there with ridiculous words or pictures to decode, and then the common one that's just "click here" to prove you're not a robot. Are you saying it analyzes how the mouse moves and where it clicks? That makes a certain amount of sense I suppose. Otherwise I am missing what's so challenging about it!

From what I understand it learns also.  So while you may get away with it a few times, it will get wise to your shenanigans.  Then you have to find the photos with cats or street signs.
