I don't know Chuck Tingle. Is he worth looking up when I am no longer in a NSFW environment?

Do you like your butts haunted by a gay unicorn colonel?  If so, go for it.

I'm sure I'm in the minority on this, but it strikes me as another Wesley Willis-type situation: a guy with some degree of mental problems starts writing nonsensical garbage, a bunch of internet geeks decide to start liking it ironically, and the cycle becomes self-reinforcing. I guess it's fine for people to like what they want to like, but I can't help but feel that there's a touch of freak-show fascination bubbling under the surface for the "fans." I just feel like the appropriate response isn't "ha ha, that's hilarious!," but rather, "I wonder if that guy needs to have his meds adjusted?"

Of course, maybe it's all a big put-on anyway, so who knows?

If you follow his Twitter, Chuck seems a little too self-aware with his jokes and on point with his trolling of Trumpsters and Gamergaters to be seriously mentally ill.

I think he's just playing a character.

He knows exactly what he is doing. After he was nominated for a Hugo award in order to troll sexist sci-fi fans he dedicated his webpage to links to feminist sci-fi authors.

Didn't his son do a reddit though and noted he has some issues or was that later debunked? At the same time though, that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy the writing and everything with it. Also, if it is helping pay the bills, then it is a good thing there too. Sometimes the world just needs general silliness and in this case it does seem more like a laughing with, not at thing.
