For what its worth.... Captioning is THE LAW as of this past January....

Netflix, Hulu, cable, whatever.... they can no longer fly under the radar.   Its like a $10,000 fine PER file.

Eh, don't knock it. I needed a transcript of a 45 minute presentation. Luckily there was a video I could upload to YouTube and get a free transcript. Sure, i had to clean up a lot of the text, but the heavy lifting was done for free.

I have a couple of youtube videos, one of which is me talking a lot while I create something in my kitchen. I don;t think I have that strong an accent, but I'm pretty sure at no point do I say the sentence "On concern arch ISO issued on the deadlock county mama"

Actually, some of the speech to text is pretty good (Dragon) but you have to "train" it to recognize your speech patterns. It's not problem-free, but still better than typing every farking word by hand.

This is from someone who has unfortunate experience in that area.

The final lists have close to even amounts from all 4 quarters so it would make the final voting pretty fair. Where's a disseminationmonkey when you need one?

Lately I find google's voice typing is more accurate than dragon, and easier for noobs to speech recognition. You may want to give it a shot unless you need keyboard/mouse replacement.

That's an interesting question. I don't work with HOTW or HOTY stuff, though. Unfreakable or ox45tallboy would be better equipped to answer that.
