For the vast majority, it is, in fact, their fault. If people would learn to push themselves away from the table instead of reaching for that last breadstick and learn to get off their asses and get some exercise, they might find that their weight problem is no longer a problem.

This dietician has bought into the absolve-yourselves-of-any-responsibility mantra hook, line and sinker. "You're might be obese, but even if it's not genetic, it's still not your fault! We'll find something else to blame."

I always try to take a couple of fat gals camping with me just in case of an emergency. never know when youre going to get stranded somewhere and need food and shelter. and if yo dont actually break down and eat the fat gal, she will eventually lead you to the nearest McDonalds.

I'm not saying that food plays no factor in obesity, just that excercise is very very important.
Someone who participates in a reasonable amount of physical activity has a better chance of that Twinkie not ending up as part of their thigh than someone who lazes around all day.
Eating nothing BUT Twinkies is bad for you regardless of your physical activity level. But then, if all you eat is Twinkies, than obesity is probably the least of your health worries. ;)

I hate fat people. I hate it when they sit next to me on an airplane, I hate it when they sit next to me on a bus, and I hate it when I have to walk next to them. I am all for live and let live (or die, in the case of obese people). I will never understand how people can be so screwed up in their head that they hate someone just for what they look like. Obese people should lose weight or wear less revealing clothes, yes, but if someone's overweight and wears modest clothes, I have no problem with them.

I dont have a problem with fat people in general, and of course 99% of the people in this thread are being silly, but I cant understand how someone can reach upwards of 600 pounds.

Once you say/type the sentance "I'm ok standing or walking as long as I frequently have a place to sit down or lean on" you need to re-examine your life. If you are unable to stand up or walk for more than 3 minutes you might want to do something

/If being fat was a good thing fatties would be saying "It took a hella lot of dedication to get to where I am!" rather than "Its not my achievement, its my metabolism"
