andthatsok: What does invariant mean

...means "unchanged by symmetry operations". Not to be confused with covariant which refers to equations whose form is preserved by a change in coordinate systems.

Traveling overseas I bumped into a Canadian woman.  I could tell, because she had a backpack with a long rant about Canadian stereotypes (like "We are not all lumberjacks", "We don't say 'eh'", etc.), with a large maple leaf tag plastered on top.  I thought about saying "So I guess you're Canadian, eh?" but I figured that would get me punched in the throat.

Canadians are not particularly amused when you eagerly point out their "eh" habit,

Take it easy, buddy.  It's just a joke, guy.

Kefka1911: Egres74: cman: Its only a matter of time before Canada becomes part of the US

Is a New Northern Alliance between Canada and a few NE and NW US states not more likely? Would be even more prosperous and resource rich without all those lovely warm states that couldn't survive without federal aid.

I'd picture the US Coastal states ( the ones that are not all Trumpified ) breaking away from the US and forming a new Mega Nation with Canada before Canada wholly joined the US.
[img.fark.net image 300x300]probably something like this. All the best parts of America minus the Jesusland that we wouldn't want anyways.
( we'd give you Florida to secure Hawaii and Porto Rico )

This?

the sections of the U.S. Upper Midwest that border Canada often have "eh" speakers

Of course up here "yah 'eh" is also a complete sentence.

Example: "Yous guys going fishin' "

"Yah eh' "

True, but she would have apologized afterward.
