Sure, Hungary...the power of one old dude is so immense that he forces your government to set monetary policy to screw over the poor.

This sounds like a redirect by the Hungarian Govt looking for a scapegoat for their own mismanagement, and a "solution" to distract from its current social and fiduciary problems.

The really scary thing about all of this is that the far right seems to have some up with a winning ideology and strategy for holding onto power.

I think that Hungary Turkey and Russia are pretty much what we will become.

With the ability to manipulate the opinion of people through propaganda it's pretty easy to demonize political opponents and get away with silencing the opposition as the Boobies in this thread shows.

The European Union member will use "all the tools at its disposal" to "sweep out" NGOs funded by the Hungarian-born financier, which "serve global capitalists and back political correctness over national governments," Szilard Nemeth, a vice president of the ruling Fidesz party, told reporters on Tuesday.

Paprika is a useless spice.  I even hesitate to call it a spice.  It's more like food coloring.  Sorry if that's not PC, but I'm just telling it like it is.

Wikipedia says his net worth is $24.9 billion.  According to the CIA World Fact Book, Hungary has a GDP of $258.4 billion.  He's worth about 10% of Hungary's entire economic output.

Again, according to the CIA, the budget for Hungary's government totals $61.2 billion.

He's worth about 40.6% of Hungary's annual budget.

I may be off base here, but I'm betting if you're that wealthy, you've got a lot of influence over the government.

Are you farking kidding me? Trump is going after his enemies.

Hungary plans to crack down on non-governmental organizations linked to billionaire George Soros now that Donald Trump will occupy the White House, according to the deputy head of Prime Minister Viktor Orban's party.

You may have missed his point.

I don't know that Soros' NGOs really do in Hungary. It's unlikely you do, either. TFA didn't help educate us much. Yet all it took was for someone to accuse whatever the hell it does as "backing political correctness", and that's all it took for you to be absolutely certain about the issue.

I find paprika to be pretty mild in the spice (pepper) spectrum. It takes a lot of it to get the taste through. Unless you use a lot of it, it pretty much is used as a food coloring. Example:

images.media-allrecipes.com

You aren't going to be able to tell the difference flavor-wise between a deviled egg with or without it so it's meant as a decoration in that case. There are other uses that go heavier on the paprika where you can taste it (like a proper goulash) but those are not as common for most people compared to a deviled egg.

Our big mistake was thinking that an open internet would shine light on these issues, allow people's eyes and hearts to be opened. Turns out it can be used to spread propaganda more effectively, too.* It's no surprise why the right wants to hand control to ISPs. It's not just for profit... it's too limit our access. Basic plans will have more entertainment and less informative content, guaranteed, and the dumbing down will continue.

* Makes sense in retrospect... the first thing said after inventing the internet is "everyone will be able to communicate", the next thing that actually happened was spam spam spam. We're greedy as hell.

Paprika is farking useless, count me on Rapmasters side on this one.  Chili powder is a better substitute in almost everything, yes even in pasta dishes, because it actually provides flavor as well as color.  If you cant handle a pinch of Chili powder then maybe you shouldnt be eating real food, stick to mayo and bread ya farkin yankees.

To me, paprika tastes like dust. I'd never use it but my wife absolutely loves it so I have to put some dust, I mean paprika, in everything I cook. As per satanic_hammy above, I have some "smokey" flavor paprika which I can tolerate, it is just like adding "smoke flavor" to everything.

There's a huge difference between what most folks in the U.S. consider paprika (in the years-old little plastic spice containers) versus a good, fresh paprika that comes in a metal can with no English words on it... night and day.  Give it a try (lots of places to get it online), it'll really change your view of it.
