Donald Trump will hopefully be the first President to not have a honeymoon period

I hope to hell that Senators like Angus King (my badass Senator) ensures that he does not get one

This beloved tradition cannot exist in the current political umwelt.

He's going down faster than Lindsay Lohan with a snootful of coke.

Well, he has a couple of things going for him: he has surrounded himself with people of the highest ethical fabric, and he has not pissed off any powerful intelligence agencies prior to taking office.

Unfortunately the same can't be said for on Russian sex workers.

This is the first President-elect that I have honestly said to myself, "I want him to fail."  I was disappointed to have George W. win re-election.  But not terrified.  This shiatshow is only going to get worse and worse.

Because 68% of Americans aren't.

Because he's rich and has things that the majority of Americans think they can get by hard work and believing in America.

I mean sure daddy's money and bankruptcy laws helped too, but let's not cloud the issue at hand.

Money = intelligence duh

Elected by a minority of the US voters and he doesn't have a favorable rating above 39%.
I'm shocked.
If his popularity ever gets above 45%, at any time during his presidency, I'll be even more shocked.

2017-01-11 09:36:09 AM
The Trumpsters live in some strange world.   I've heard people saying it's not believable because the stuff is so over the top.

If you were the set designer on a movie that parodied Russian mobsters and gold plated as much shiat as Trump has in his house everyone would say it was too much.   The dude has lived his life in that state.  That he can do whatever, whenever with no repercussions.   It's all believable simply because IT IS so over the top, that's how he rolls.

2017-01-11 09:36:15 AM
The sad thing is that 39% of those polled approve of his performance in explaining his policies and plans.

/oh, and for the first time to me, it was clear that the president of the US is NOT "by the people" and I really, really doubt he will be "for the people"

Fox flat out mocked him mercilessly when he first announced his candidacy.  Then they realized they could profit more by feeding off of their viewers' a steady stream of hate.

I watched as my elderly father went from chuckling at Trump, to defending him zealously.  It's disturbing how easily led some elderly people are.

How many of you lost faith in the two party system this election?

I hated it before the election, but goddamn, GOP and DNC really farked up last year.

2017-01-11 09:40:41 AM
Even with the bump presidents get from being elected, that still seems high. The polling for this week and next will probably be a ton of fun.

2017-01-11 09:40:45 AM
I am beyond making any predictions about what is going to happen with his Presidency.

I used to think that there was some truth to this theory everyone has about the government.  That they are all powerful, the President is just a figurehead, etc...  I believed that if the government disapproved of something (like, say a candidate for President), they would be able to put a stop to their getting elected.

I thought that Trump couldn't win the Primary.  I thought that Trump couldn't win the general election.

So I am completely dumbfounded now.  I don't know what to believe.  Because there are only 2 explanations for how this has gone this far:
1.  The government is not as powerful as I thought.
2.  The government is even MORE powerful, and this is happening by their design.

And neither of those explanations are very encouraging.

It's almost like if you pay attention to what Trump does instead of what he says his actions are wildly distasteful to the average American.  It's a shame no one pointed that out months ago.

Maybe Fox can run another 16 hour marathon on Hillary's emails to distract you from the fact that Trump is a horrible human being.  I hope they've got 4 years of that material on a loop to distract from him burning the country down.  BSABSVR!

This is not schadenfreude.  I am convinced that ANY elephant would of beat HRC hands down at this point. Everyone was/is/ aware that this man is not fit to be President but that was NEVER the point.  See you in 2020 and hopefully by then you can pull your party together and restore some balance to the realm.

That's the best part.  According to Trump and Trump approved (and idiot-watched) media outlets he won the election by millions of popular votes.  He proves polls don't matter.  and by doing so he proves THESE polls don't matter.  All polls don't matter!  Except ones showing him winning, those polls are the greatest!  He has a mandate to do everything, all the greatest plans.  That are being researched.  Soon.  Ignore the polls.  Except the ones where Trump wins bigly!

I guess SOME people need a reminder of the last time a credible journalist released 'unverified' documents:
