Because it's impossible for a Republican to fail downward.

That said, the one good thing Trump has done is to tell Christie to go f*ck himself. I'm willing to put up with another year of him as lame-duck governor if it means he never holds any position of authority ever again.

Before he comes back, he needs to go the fark away first.

Because, before he thought sometime in 2013 that he was going to be the next President, he was actually doing a half-decent job. And I say that as a Corzine/Buono voter.

Less than three months ago, people were still wondering how the GOP would recover after being destroyed by Trump. At this point, truly nothing would surprise me.

Fatso's latest talk is he is going to get tough on drugs during his last year. Which of course means pointless enforcement on minor infractions without any consideration for the bigger picture (i.e. how pointless this era of prohibition is).

We're talking Chris Christie here. More like a dead cat thud.

I'm 1/2 surprised that Lord Cheetos hasn't tapped him to be Director of Transportation or Secretary of Health or something.

Because the public knows his name and considering this is NJ all the other alternatives are probably worse.

How the hell is Christie worse than Brownback?

Not complaining, I'm honestly curious.

Before becoming governor Christie busted Kushner the elder. There is hope that he can do it again

This is BS. The poll only surveyed New Jersey residents. He has historically low approval ratings in New Jersey. That doesn't make him the least popular governor in the US. That honor still belongs to my governor, Sam Brownback.

Did anybody ever read that short lived comic book by Sergio Aragonès?

PLOP!

It had covers by Basil Wolverton and great stories drawn by Aragonès. But financially it failed and quickly turned to the kind of cartoons you would find in an ordinary lower middle class magazine and the kind of filler you find in Kiddy coloring books. Sad because it had such a great premise and such great work in it.

America could really use a PLOP! now.

Because not only is the elephant in the room making a mess of Amerika-ka-ka, the enormous pile of elephant PLOP! on the coffee table is beginning to devour the entire house.

How can you make a second trip to the buffet if you have never left?

I TELLS YAH, HE IS A REMORSELESS EATING MACHINE! Politically as well as physically.

He is one of those fat bullied boys who become a fat bully. SAD. Being Trump's temporary Fat Bully Lieutenant is as close to the brass ring as he is going to get, and Trump was only displaying him as a trophy prison biatch, not even a Gun Moll.

When I was a child, there was a kid named ****** in grade one who weighted 160 pounds. This was in the Sixties. Double that weight for inflation since. You do not get that fat so young without a fundamental genetic factor. No Mother can force feed an infant so quickly.

I have seen it all a thousand times.

Bullies create bullies and child molesters create child molesters. Every evil or good thing replicates itself or it perishes. Honest home owners buying guns supply 70-75% of the guns used in the commission of crimes. The rate of child molestation among the victims of child molestation is similar. Every peasant has his dog is a very, very old proverb indeed.

20% of the people do 80% of the bullying, at least. It may be more like 5% doing 95%, seeing as most of the murders and other serious crimes are the work of a small minority of criminals.

He should resign.  He should have resigned before running for President.
Here is a short list of my problems with him:

1.  The government raided the Transportation trust fund.  The only way to get that money back was to raise our gas tax.  Nothing is being done to recover the money that was taken.
2.  After that, he found $300M to renovate the state house.
3.  After that, he tried to push a bill through that would give raises to everyone and allow him to profit from a book deal - this is currently not legal.
4.  Even though medical pot is legal, it's damned near impossible to implement because he has made it impossible for businesses to actually grow the stuff.

The list could go on and on.  But those are the top issues.  As this relates to your post, he might be a "lame duck", but MAN he is an active one.  Those top 3 things happened in the last 2 months.

We need someone to actually do the job and do it right.  Not do the job like someone who is walking away next year.

The sick part of this is that for all his scandals and sleaziness, in the end this is what really killed Christie's career on the national stage:

encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com

He shoulda been STIGGINIT instead of working with the President to help his state through a disaster.

I think Chris Christie is awesome.

If all you do is look at him and only process 'BridgeGate' I can see why you would not like the guy.

Listen to the guy speak.  Very measured, intelligent, articulate, nuanced.  Humorous at times.  Yes, he is tough but has empathy too. Appropriately bipartisan in that he has core principles but does not obstruct government like McConnell and Reid when they do not get their ways.

He was my favorite in the pack of 17 Republican candidates.

I for one welcome this Garden State overlord.
