I don't care.  College season has been over for a week now, and I've never really been interested in the pro game.

God, I hate 'Bama, but I really don't think Clemson has anything for the Tide. I hope I'm wrong, though.

Clemson's job should be "don't screw up" because if you hold Alabama's offense, their D will fall.

'Bama by 11 points.

It'll be interesting to see what the Browns do when they're relegated to the Big Ten next year

Burying the semi-final games in the middle of a bunch of other bowls was not a wise move. They should have played all those games on Dec. 31, and left Jan. 2 open for the semi-final games.  I guess if the Chico's Bail Bonds Bowl wants to play at 9:30 AM on Jan. 2, that's fine, but you definitely shouldn't have had major bowls like the Orange Bowl, Sugar Bowl, and Rose Bowl after the semi-finals.

It'll be interesting to see if Kiffin's lack of involvement will be good for Clemson (lower quality playcalling) or good for 'Bama (Clemson prepped for Lane, not whoeverthef*ck)

FTFM, I forgot the Orange Bowl was on 12/30.

Two stats I heard today that kind of blew my mind:

Alabama's defense has only allowed 15 touchdowns all season.
Alabama's defense has scored 11 touchdowns this season.

That being said, if Clemson can limit their turnovers I think they have a good enough squad to win; 26-20.

I agree with this. If you're going to have elimination rounds into a championship game, those should be the final 3 games of the season.

I'm not a fan of the Bama juggernaut, but I may start rooting for them tonight if Clemson starts putting a brown rim on the Crimson Tide.

That, I agree is stupid.  And on New Years Eve?  They both should be played after all the bowls (we can argue the relevance of having 200 bowls nowadays, I think that statement shows where I stand)... but let all the bowls do their thing... then championship time.  And not on a holiday.  After the holidays, after the bowls... you can totally own that space (just don't go up against the NFL... play the semis on a Wednesday or something, then the championship on a Monday now that MNF is over, or Tuesday).

/Oh and it should be 8 teams in the Championship, not 4.  I promise people will watch.  *ducks*

I really do wish there were more parity in CFB... and it shouldn't be that hard.  You have 128 division 1 teams, no?  Alabama winning all the time is an insane lack of parity.  I agree that with 128 teams, you're going to have 25 some that just don't prioritize football and will never be in the picture.  But starting the season, you should have a good, I'd say, 30-40 teams that could realistically win the Championship.

And I don't get why this can't be enforced.  It's college, the churn is extremely short.  You only have ANY player for a few years.

But it seems to be the same old teams year after year.

Clemson's Def. plan should be "Stack eight on the line and play man-to-man against their receivers". Make their QB beat them.

If this year has taught me anything, it's that grabbing people when and where they aren't expecting it gets you to your goals.  Therefore, Clemson will rub pull off the upset.

Hope it's a good game tonight.

I'm sorry but we're not going to lend Nick Saban out to a different school every couple of years for the sake of parity.

You can have him when Bama has squeezed all the juice out of him.  (Ew.)

Although I'm of the mind that Dabo knows Saban well enough to out-call him on the average play and certainly has a score to settle.  And Watson puts the run-pass option out there better than any quarterback on the field.  So I'm Rolling Tide but these are the only Tigers I'm afraid of.

Having the playoff bowls before the majors was....weird...and bad theater.

I just came in to say that I don't give a shiat about the teams in this game. Instead I will be using my time to biatch about raw while I don't enjoy that either.

I don't follow college ball really, other than as the draft approaches.

But as a former south Florida resident, fark Nick Saban. I hope he finds a way to lose and actually have a NEGATIVE score.

ESPN, why you jinxing saying that the last team to go 15-0 in a season was in 1897?

Go Clemson I guess, but I don't think they can get it done.

Cancelling my Sling the second this game is over.

This game tonight hits a zero on the give a shiat meter. My reason is simple, The NCAA has done nothing but serve it's own self interest and protect the profit margin and care little about their real reason for being, to educate people. These two fine schools tonight have done, will continue to do the very same things that SMU got punished and destroyed for. They just got smarter at cheating, Bitter? You bet. Alabama and Clemson mean nothing to me.

Hmm, effete snob who lives in a college city and actively roots against that team yet likes soccer doesn't resemble a certain stereotype at all.  Get out of my country with that communist kickball crap.

After the 2011 national title game when people were jumping all over Auburn for being dirty (paying for Cam Newton) I made a comment about giving them at least twenty four hours to celebrate.  Surprisingly, an Alabama fan seconded that and unsurprisingly, it was KT who did so.  I can't remember who has the KT pic but could somebody who has it please post it?

No dog in this fight, I'm just hoping for a good game.  Failing that, I want Clemson to win by 32+ so we can claim second best! :)

Alabama will win by 30+ because CFB refuses to implement a proper salary cap

The NCAA needs to invent something like the equivalent of a salary cap.

Shout out, as always, to Krymson Tyde who has the best seat in the house. RIP.

As an ACC homer, I've gotta hope Clemson pulls this off; as an aficionado of grown men shouting at teenagers, I have to pull for Nick Saban.

I'm torn, is what I'm saying.

They kind of did level the playing field about 10 years ago, dropping the scholarship limit from 100 down to 85.  They can't drop it much further, because college teams need a certain amount of depth.
