Huzzah on the headline!
2004-05-05 09:11:48 AM
so.... many.... M's!
2004-05-05 09:13:27 AM
Might mislead? That's what he does, silly people.
2004-05-05 09:13:51 AM
maybe michael moore's movie might makeup misleading misinformation.......
2004-05-05 09:13:53 AM
Reading the headline made my lips hurt.

This will only help the movie's publicity. I cannot wait for it.
2004-05-05 09:14:00 AM
Ah, and the reason is that they don't want to endanger tax breaks from Bush's unspeakably classy. Looks like I'm gonna have to find those new Donald Duck dvds used...

2004-05-05 09:14:30 AM
alliteration alley!
2004-05-05 09:15:11 AM
great headline..and though I don't like projects being cancelled for political repercussions..we really didn't need another bundle of lies posing as a documentary from the asshat Moore
2004-05-05 09:15:14 AM
The Mouse wants Jeb Bush's tax breaks.
At least now I won't be giving It money when I go to see the movie. Twice.
My personal boycott of Disney: Day 721,008.
2004-05-05 09:15:21 AM
Hooray for consonance!
2004-05-05 09:15:29 AM

Sounds like someone's listening to Air America this AM

Marvelous Headline!
2004-05-05 09:16:38 AM
Next week: Moore makes minatory movie masticating mighty Mouse.
2004-05-05 09:17:30 AM
we really didn't need another bundle of lies posing as a documentary from the asshat Moore

ignorance is strength.
2004-05-05 09:18:23 AM
Moore has incredible gall trying to pass this off as a documentary. Actually, ditto for Bowling for Columbine, from what I've heard.

An actual documentary is supposed to be neutral. It's not supposed to set out to prove a point. Whereas with "Farenheit 911", we all knew it would be a Bush-bashfest from the get-go.

I still think they should release the film, though. Blocking him will only give him a sense of victimhood, and Moore loves victimhood. This banning improves his reputation, whereas I think having the film released to the public would damage it.
2004-05-05 09:18:24 AM
I love this Moore quote: "At some point the question has to be asked, `Should this be happening in a free and open society where the monied interests essentially call the shots regarding the information that the public is allowed to see?' "

Dear Mr. Moore: were you asking that question in a negative way when they were handing you money? Would you be asking that question if they were distributing your movie? Or are they only a "monied interest calling the shots" when they DON'T do what you want them to do?
2004-05-05 09:18:49 AM
Wow. Can you say "ALLITERATION".
2004-05-05 09:18:50 AM
Anxious alliteration from anchors places in precarious posts.

/likes headline.
2004-05-05 09:19:36 AM
How can people listen to Moore's clap trap without gagging? Seriously.
2004-05-05 09:19:43 AM
"great headline..and though I don't like projects being cancelled for political repercussions..we really didn't need another bundle of lies posing as a documentary from the asshat Moore"

What we really need are no lies, no bias and no crap from all information sources. Seeing as thats not going to happen, I will gladly listen to all biased information from all sides and use my brain to figure out the lies.

Closed Mind = Ignorance
2004-05-05 09:19:51 AM
I see the idea more or less as censorship. They will let Koppel read his death list on Nightline, but they block Moore's obvious liberal propaganda "documentary" from theatrical release?

Should be interesting to see how this pans out.
2004-05-05 09:20:07 AM
"Don't you practice your alliteration on me!"

2004-05-05 09:20:28 AM

Don't question the man. He is to be unquestioned. That is all.
2004-05-05 09:21:02 AM
More direct collusion between the administration and major media conglomerates to repress dissent. What is this, Italy?

And don't accuse a film to be full of lies before you've either seen it or read the script. That puts you in the same league as those Jews Against The Passion and Catholics Against Dogma -- the class of braindead, lockstepped douchebags.
2004-05-05 09:21:20 AM
Note: The letter M came into English from the Greek, through the Latin, the form of the Greek letter being further derived from the Ph[oe]nician, and ultimately, it is believed, from the Egyptian. Etymologically M is related to n, in lime, linden; emmet, ant; also to b. M is readily followed by b and p. the position of the lips in the formation of both letters being the same. The relation of b and m is the same as that of d and t to n. and that of g and k to ng.

2. As a numeral, M stands for one thousand, both in English and Latin.

Sounds like someone's listening to Air America this AM

Nice try, dubyahfellator. The relation to Jeb Bush's tax breaks in Florida for Disney was reported by Jack Cafferty on CNN this morning.

Try listening to someone besides Rush Limbaugh now and then.

2004-05-05 09:21:35 AM
Moore lost all relevence long ago.

Sleep, sleep, die, you fat bastard.
2004-05-05 09:21:56 AM
I love this thread, it so clearly politically polarizes people... There's a lot of merit to a lot of ideas that Michael Moore has, the way he tells his stories on the other hand can be misleading, but he is asking all the right questions. You know its gotta be good if someone is trying to be censor this movie.
2004-05-05 09:22:11 AM
Hmm, I posted a better story about this from the BBC a few hours ago.

See, I told you
2004-05-05 09:22:23 AM
Oh, so we shouldn't question authority ever? It might upset them?? Oh, ok.
2004-05-05 09:22:50 AM
Hah, Michael Moore. By the same standards that people whine about both Bushes lying, Michael Moore is a much worse liar just for BfC alone. Any bets on if he'd ever come up with a similar movie about Kerry? I didn't think so.
2004-05-05 09:22:56 AM
Jesus creeping shiat, man, that's a lot of alliteration.
2004-05-05 09:22:57 AM
Oh, it will go through. This report is only fueling the ticket sales. Anyone who works/has worked in theatres or keeps a good eye on film studios knows that Miramax has always been Di$ney's chancey PG-13 to NC-17 distribution biatch.

It not as if this film would had mass distribution anyways.

No new news here. Carry on wayward sons...
2004-05-05 09:23:10 AM
I admit that Moore is a bastard, I mean you could see it in Bowling for Columbine, but does that make his message incorrect? Does it mean he should not be able to speak out?

Poisoning the well
2004-05-05 09:23:47 AM
Well, it's a good thing Disney has had such a great recent streak of hits, I'd hate to be a stockholder and see them throwing away profits like this.
2004-05-05 09:24:07 AM

to stir controversy which leads to recognition which leads to sales. Just like with "Passion of Christ".

Nothing to see here.
2004-05-05 09:24:36 AM
Moore lost all relevence long ago.

Was that before or after he won the Oscar?? Before or after being atop the NYT bestseller list?? Just curious.
2004-05-05 09:24:38 AM
The guy does extremely poor research, is intentionally inflammatory, transparently politically biased, deliberately aims to mislead his viewers, espouses lies and hearsay as truth, shamelessly takes quotes and commentary out of context...

sounds just like any 'news' source - what's the big deal?
2004-05-05 09:24:42 AM
So let me see, Kill Bill and Jersey Girl are ok to release but Michael Moore isn't? Chopping off 75 heads and Ben Affleck are more acceptable than creatively telling about the lies of the Bush Administration?
2004-05-05 09:25:05 AM
I see the idea more or less as censorship. They will let Koppel read his death list on Nightline, but they block Moore's obvious liberal propaganda "documentary" from theatrical release?
Not distributing != blocking

If I don't hand out The Distinguished Poodle Illustrated to all of my friends, that does not mean that I'm preventing them from reading that foofie-dog cr@p. It does mean that I'm not furthering their cause, but a negative and a non-positive are not necessarily the same thing.
2004-05-05 09:25:16 AM
Another step toward irrelevancy for Communist Gasbag Michael Moore.
2004-05-05 09:25:48 AM
I won't sleep at night knowing that a political wing nut attention whore was denined a main stream movie.

And if I hear that Rush Limbaugh's "Liberals are baby eaters" movie gets canned as well, I very well may faint.
2004-05-05 09:25:57 AM
can anyone provide a URL to a site documenting moore's lies/misinfo?
2004-05-05 09:26:07 AM
"Moore's obvious liberal propaganda "documentary" "

Bush has had ties to the Saudi's for decades, this isn't propoganda, ALthough since as usual every Bushie will close their eyes and scream LA LA LA I'm NOT LISTENING like they do to everything else, you might as well label it any way you want.
2004-05-05 09:26:08 AM
Moore's film has not been sighted as's just that it's a factual exposure of the Bush/Saud terror ties.

I may have to get involved on this one.
2004-05-05 09:26:43 AM
sighted = cited (groan!)
2004-05-05 09:27:22 AM
Michael Moore should not be allowed to voice an opinion about the current administration. It is something only an unpatriotic American would do. If you don't like Bush, you're a terrorist. If you question anything, you are a sandal wearing, tree hugging, draft dodging, pot smoking, tax and spend, unwashed hippy liberal democrat - just like Clinton who is to blame for everything from Osama to continental drift cause he got a blowjob.
2004-05-05 09:28:09 AM
Can't this guy go direct to DVD? He's got to be rich enough after Bowling for Columbine and Roger and Me.
2004-05-05 09:30:21 AM
priestholmes , Britney and her ilk win awards and sell product, but does that make them culturally relevant?

Just wondering.
