2002-01-06 07:31:09 PM
Still doesn't beat the 24 straight by the Bucs.

2002-01-06 07:31:32 PM

this could be jerry richardson's motivation to make
real~time changes in that orginization.

our is that my wishfull thinking?
being a NC native ;-)

Was their one win against the Vikings, like just about every other team with one win in the NFL?

2002-01-06 07:36:04 PM
Quick1 yes it was.

2002-01-06 07:41:54 PM
And what other teams have just one win??????

Just wondering???

2002-01-06 07:43:20 PM
There will be no ill words about the Lions today. Go Lions! Beat the Cowboys!
w00t!

2002-01-06 07:56:23 PM
I blame Rae Carruth. Karma's a biatch.

2002-01-06 07:58:28 PM
Always wondered about George, everyone claimed he was such a "great coach" after taking over from Walsh but my guess was he inherited a great team and staff and rode that pony!

2002-01-06 08:01:58 PM
Spurrier coming to Carolina, why??? To show that even he can't get a winning record out of a bunch of losers.

2002-01-06 08:02:48 PM
DariusMDeV there are a few, including the Pats. The record for no wins in a season belongs to Tampa Bay, at 0-14, but that was before the 16 game seasons.

2002-01-06 08:18:14 PM
Meanwhile, The Lions win!!!!!

2002-01-06 08:20:18 PM
And they get three Pro Bowlers...

2002-01-06 08:37:06 PM

I am sooooooooo sad.

HA HA

Carolina and Penrith. Both nicknamed the Panthers. Both can't play their respective code to save themselves. Both now objects of my mockery. Tee hee farkin' hee ;)

Is it just me or is it the cats losing? Lions, Panthers, Tigers....

Wonder what PETA's stand on this is....

y'know: an obsession with sports indicates a depleted level of testosterone

2002-01-06 09:15:26 PM
ahhh but an obsession of laughing at sport teams that can't beat an egg is quite healthy

2002-01-06 09:26:55 PM
My high school football team, the Panthers, have won 30 straight games.

2002-01-06 09:26:55 PM
Mwad: My husband doesn't like sports. :) But I wonder what it says about a guy who's obsessed with chess like he is... (besides the obvious "geek")

2002-01-06 09:37:57 PM
Heh.. I'm in the opposite situation. My wife LOVES sports, especially football. :-)

2002-01-06 09:45:35 PM
Alexandra: I trust there are games the 2 of you enjoy together....
Flapper:In order to laugh at them they would have to rise above the current state of irrelevance they enjoy in my world.

2002-01-06 09:50:12 PM
I love when a game is televised and they hype it as having important "draft pick implications".

Go Dallas!! Sign a whole new team!!

(or at least start distributing Nate Newton's stash to your fans)

2002-01-06 10:36:42 PM
Too bad the Panthers couldn't have drawn the MNF game tonight. Both teams are already in the playoffs and are playing their scrubs to give the starters some rest.

2002-01-06 10:40:49 PM
Mwad - if these games lack so much relevance in your world, why are you commenting in a sports-related thread? Oh, right, to show your cool facade of vast indifference. You're so much higher in testosterone levels than I am. w00t!

2002-01-06 11:15:11 PM
Hilarious. The Detroit Lions actually finished with a BETTER record than the Carolina Panthers.

2002-01-06 11:37:45 PM
I dare not laugh at the Panthers too heartily. I have this horrible dread that the "Houston Texans", the next great monstrosity scheduled to be forced onto my city and purchased with enough money to end world hunger, will shatter any and all losing records giving the world yet another reason to laugh at us (unless we do really good the first year because our team turns out to be a bunch of mercenary talent payed to play one year and then allowed to run wherever the hell they want- You know, like that expansion team they put in Charlotte a few years back).

Thank God I am a Packer Fan. GO PACK!!!!!

2002-01-07 12:48:24 AM
Here we go Steelers!!! We need the one for the thumb!

NuckleheadEd:
I commented due to the fact that there were three sports
posts in succession.this seemed excessive.
the "indifference" to sports is not a facade nor is it indifference.antipathy is a better description.
their are jocks occupying seats in college that would be better occupied by people who will do something useful.(provided they can get a college education.)their are proffessionals in sports making obscene amounts of money to play a game while the teachers in our schools barely make subsistence wages.
as for my own testosterone level: it is merely satisfactory.
email me if you are interested in the studies conducted on the relationship between watching sports and the effect it has on your testosterone level. I'll dig up the links for you.

Hey Mwad, go biatch in another thread. This one's dedicated to the mockery of the panthers. Why don't you post those studies instead of yapping about them off-topic. Then I can go into those threads and biatch about how much science there is on Fark. Dipshiat.

By the way, this one made me feel better about the bears shutting out the lions last week.

2002-01-07 04:01:51 AM
Oh, and GO BEARS!!!!

2002-01-07 05:34:45 AM
we ALL should be packers fans, it's the way to go really :)

2002-01-07 07:55:31 AM
Ha Ha!

2002-01-07 08:57:34 AM
Bennyhana: sorry ,won't happen again.

2002-01-07 09:34:12 AM
I watched that game yesterday at a friend's house. It was pretty shocking seeing all the empty seats at the game down there. Most of the people there were Pats fans! GO PATS!!
