Ok has anyone else realized that all of these MTV "hidden" camera shows are staged anyway? Between Punk'd and the one they were running a few months ago where some guy annoyed the hell out of people on "hidden" camera for an alloted amount of time, then gave them cash....i've grown to get really pissed at how stupid the average americans are. The reason i say this is because plain and simple,...all of the cameras in these shows pan super fast, and pan in a human like motion, not motorized. The sound quality, being able to pick up each person's voice is far too clear to only have the people acting be wired. Yes, there are hidden cameras that pan...but not this quality, these are top of the line production shots, and i have a hard time believing they can hide them inside a clock or vase of flowers. Just a little heads up. Next time you watch Punk'd, or any MTV candid camera sorta deal, look at how the cameras move just as effectively as they would if there was a person standing right in on the set filming. It's quite funny, because the average person doesnt even realize this.

but i agree, those shows, along with "reality" television, are all staged to a degree. people don't usually watch them because they believe the shows are real, but because they get entertained by it.

I don't know if Allen was a genius but he did invent the genre which, I think, says something. As for the class of Allen's pranks, he never played jokes that made people think that they were in danger or at risk of any sort of harm. His jokes were always intended to befuddle people.
