They make some decent beers in Belgium.  But they make some decent beers everywhere in the world, if you know where to look.  Hint: it's not in any nation's mass produced garbage.

Leffe ....I made the mistake of buying a six pack of that once . I took what was left over to a party and accidently left it there .

It's Belgian beer culture, not just the beer.  They have only 150 breweries.  Here in the USA we have 3500 craft breweries, covering every style imaginable.  We also have nanobreweries (brew pubs), which are higher in number as well.  It is hard to argue Belgian beer culture > us beer culture.
