What's sad is that many low-down, skid-row types commit crimes because life in prison is better than their life on the outside. Yes, SteelSniper, we should just execute all the prisoners instead. Better yet, why don't we take prisoners to a secluded island and nuke it every couple of months. That will stop the people who aren't afraid of current death sentences from committing crimes. Think of how much better this country would be if even minor things like drinking and driving had been a capital offense for the last 30 years or more. To make things perfect we could add other minor crimes to the mandatory execution, such as schedule 2 drug abuse!

That's actually a pretty good point....however, in general, prisoners have it a shiatload easier then they used to. If the prisoners don't waaaant to work, then what? They go without? Ok, are they learning anything, other than boredom? Did detention ever work on anyone in school?
