That was all about firing up the ignorant racists.  He isn't going to let something like that get in the way of making money.

And they don't need him anymore; they can do all the discrimination by themselves. Be ready to see "Islam-free zones" appearing here and there.

Let us be real about Donald Trump.  He's an ignorant self important asshole.  He also has no qualms about singling out whatever group he or his supporters do not like.  He has no issues with racism, sexism, or bigotry.  He is an unpredictable bully.

However, probably most overlooked is his bargaining style, which has repeatedly been shown throughout the campaign to be "Promise ridiculous stuff, then after the deal is over, pull back in a big way."  He has no convictions other than making himself look good and always appearing to win.  He has done this in most, if not all his business dealings.  Whether it is bullying small business, maneuvering via bankruptcy, or using loopholes in laws to skirt taxes, he will always try to squirm out of anything that will make him appear "less successful".

Since no one asked, I'll just offer up my opinion on Trump. Perhaps I'm getting my stages of grief mixed up, or maybe I'm just trying to cope, but after giving it some thought here are my thoughts on President Trump:

1) As crazy as this is going to be, I still think he's a better choice than Cruz or Jindal or Santorum or most of the rest of the field. Kasich is probably the only one that I would have preferred over Trump

2) At his core, he's a business man (good or bad is up for debate). I don't think he's going to do anything that would hurt his business or that of his CEO buddies. This includes trade wars and deporting illegals. The wall is right out

3) He's been a Democrat for most of his life. I still think this was all a charade to get elected (I'm still scared shiatless, tho)

4) Some of the more powerful GOP electeds don't like him. That could impede any crazy shiat he might want to try

5) Hopefully this will act as a wake-up call to the DNC as to how to pick their candidates. Also a wake-up call to voters.

From class to crass. Biggest downgrade in American History.

On the plus side, the lulz as the Trumperites slowly begin to figure out that Trump may not actually be the Savior of the Working Class man are bound to be epic.

I'm looking on the bright side here.

2) so, business as usual for a republican president.

3) I can't buy this anymore.

It might not be on his website in that language, but it's still a part of his "First 100 Days" plan (PDF/Trump's website warning).

Agreed.  Damage has been done - we've re-normalized nationalistic and racist sentiments country-wide, and people who've been holding their darkness in check for years, for no reason other than fear of social backlash, are now feeling empowered.

Mr. Trump, remember when you said you'd build a wall and get Mexico to pay for it? "Wrong!"
Mr. Trump, remember when you said you knew more about ISIS than the generals? "Wrong!"

Part of me is actually looking forward to his supporters coming to grips with the shallowness of his promises and realizing that they actually have no farking clue where this guy stands on a whole host of issues.

This has been my outlook on this win. Best case scenario is that Trump screws his base over as much as he has screwed everyone else over for his entire life.

Worst case scenario is that he continues to just let everyone else do all of the work, doesn't care what happens as long as he gets his money and his ego gets stroked, like he has for his entire life. The reason that this is worst-case is that he will fill his cabinet full of the worst the GOP has to offer, and then will let them just do whatever the fark they want, and this place will TRULY be in the shiatter...

Trump actually doing what he promised falls somewhere in between.

Two things.  One, you apparently didn't understand what that was about.  Two, this is about a man publicly lying to everyone to attain a position and then his surrogate admitting that he was publicly lying to attain that position.  Yeah, great guy you've got there.  You farked youselves.
