(Some Guy)   Did Led Zeppelin really have satanic messages backwards in their music? You be the judge: listen to recordings of their songs played backwards (old repeat)   (reversespeech.com) divider line 82

I hate this crap about subliminal messages. I'm a huge fan and have listened to them for years. I listened to them right up until the day they locked me up for killing me mum and dad.

I found backward messages in Dread Zeppelins first album,

it was stuff like,

"fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches are good"

"I shot the tv while sitting on the toilet"

"cotton panties"

Sent by Dr Deepak on Styx on Sepultra album, - What does this backmasked example say?

WTF WAS THE SECOND ONE INVOLVING STYX?

Gotta love people that honestly believe that this stuff is there on purpose. It's the audio equivalent of a Rorshach blot. If you play the "Mr. Ed" theme backwards, some people say you can hear "this song is sung for Satan" (I am not making this up)

Vulture, didn't it have something to do with the song "Snowblind"? It's been so long since I ruined needles playing records backwards.

Did anyone notice the N-Sync one?

Er, ok?? - This was sent to us by RS Hobbiest, Brian Hosmillo - I found a reversal on the N'Sync song, "Tearing Up My Heart." Forwards it says, "Baby it feels like your on it." Backwards it says, "I really got to eat penis."

2002-01-02 11:12:29 PM
This is just.. tripy.
Its like people say what they are really thinking(the truth), yet only reversed. And it kinda makes sense since like they say babies first learn to talk backwards... I dunno..

What was the joke about playing country music backwards? Something like, guy's woman comes back home, his dog comes back to life, and his truck fixes itself.

Didn't say it was a funny joke.

Hey I know a guy called IndianaJones too, TennesseeBuck. Maybe we could get all 50 states to represent.

Also how could you pick on the Carpenters; they were Sciencetologists and that religion has no Satan per se. They believe you are your own Satan.

EEEEEKKKK...ohh it's just a mirror.

J.K. if there are Sciencetologits out there (... nervously looks over shoulder.

Yeah that ranks up there with John Lennon's death being foretold in the song Strawberry Fields Forever or some crap like that. I have a friend who's a major Beatles fan and she said that if you listen real closely you can hear "he's been shot."

Dr. Jones kicks ass. :) Me justs hopes Spielberg won't chicken out and puts Nazis in the next movie. You can't make a good Indiana Jones movie without Nazis.

I got a vinyl ELO record broke in half by my parents back in 79 when they heard the backwards crap at the beginning of 'Fire On High'. All I've heard is that it says something like 'music can be reversed. time can not. Turn back. Turn back. Turn back.'

Is that accurate, or was I fed a line of bullshiat?

2002-01-02 11:32:58 PM
yeah... and you ever see the back of a 20 dollar bill, man? There's a lot of weird shi.t going on on the back of a 20 dollar bill.

Hotel California : There were voices down the corridor, thought I heard them say, welcome to the hotel California.'

Reverse: 'Yeah Satan, he organized, oh, he organized his own religion. Yeah, when he knows he should, how nice it was delicious, he puts it in a vet he fixes it for his son which he gives away.'
____

Please, someone explain the line "how nice it was delicious, he puts it in a vet he fixes it for his son which he gives away" Surely if theyh were going to deliberately put in a satanic message, they would make it sound semi-satanic and somewhat logical

I buried Paul.

This is indeed quite interesting, but im rewally not convinced. the Led Zepplien thingee about satan and the toolshed and whatnot is quiet compelling though... hmm. The thing that comes to mind is, so what? ok, lets say i write a song. you play the song backwards and you heard,'satan is cool, i like satan.'. so? what am i doing, mind controlling you? the only way peolple even hear it is if they play it backwards. but cout the subconsious mind pick it up, kind of like how we can read backwards print? if so, could this be a basis for mind control? could justin timberlake become the worldwide ruler by simply putting out a catchy song with backwards messages? it hasnt happened yet, but how do we know no one has tried? if this indeed can make a greater impression on the human mind than listening to lyrics forwards, couldnt it be used as a type of propaganda? what if the military were to take huge speakers to hostile natins and play marriah carrey with hidden messages in the song? would the enemy submit, or simply kill themselfs because of her voice? the possibilities, if it is indeed possible, are endless, but it is scarey eather way.

2002-01-02 11:58:46 PM
Hey i just found out that if you play "hell awaits"(a Slayer song) backwards it says "join us" i think that they are trying to make people worship Satan.

2002-01-02 11:59:10 PM
Actually the "I buried Paul" quote is a misquote. JL actually says "cranberry sauce." There's another version of the song on one of the Beatles Anthology CDs that's much easier to understand, and it's pretty clear that it's "cranberry sauce."

2002-01-02 11:59:40 PM
This reminds me of listening to Bill & Ted yell "excellent!" ...backwards it sounds like "Bill and Ted" (said quickly of course)

2002-01-03 12:01:49 AM
In Pink Floyd's Empty Spaces there is a a backwards message that says, "you have found the Pink Floyd secret message. For directions write to 'Ol' Pink...". I forget how the rest of it goes.

2002-01-03 12:05:46 AM
"He will be sad, the one who makes me sad, whose power is Satan!" How about Another One Bites the Dust, which I swear really did say "Smoke Marijuana" backward. But it wasn't as certain as the write to Old Pink, like Gasolia said. It gave an address that faded off into inaudibility toward the end.

2002-01-03 12:05:53 AM
Too damn lazy to click on the link so don't know if it's there, but my favorite backwards recording is at the end of Prince's "Darling Nikki" on Purple Rain... "Hello... how are you... I'm so happy... because I know the Lord is coming soon." How dare he try to sneak in a spiritual message in a song about a girl masturbating in public.

2002-01-03 12:08:54 AM
Turn me on, cranberry sauce.

I grew up in a Christian church and they were really big on backward masking and burning LPs and cassettes (this was before CDs). The most hilarious part about the backward masking presentations was that NO ONE would ever come up with what the presenter came up with. He'd say something like, "Now listen to this one. They are saying, 'I slept with Satan and gave Jesus head.'" Everyone would go, "Oh, yeah, I hear it!!!"

Sheep.

I find this schitz fascinating in much the same way that I do Telemundo and Univision while not being able to understand a word of Spanish. Strange.

axess69:
remember holding the inside illustration from zep four up to a mirror to see satan's devil-dog? good times...

queen: "another one rides the bus" = "it's fun to smoke marijuana" backmasked.

"i buried paul" is actually "i'm very tall". and if you listen closely to the end of "i am the walrus" you can hear them chanting "smoke pot smoke pot everybody smoke pot".

if you like to read check out philip k. dick's "valis". there's a character based on eric clapton in it who puts hidden messages in his music to bring down the government.

Good LORD this is stupid.

Sufferers of 'perceived listening complex'

I get these musician jokers all the time...claiming to have heard their backup singers singing backwards that they were secretly going to assassinate his dog at 11:00 Friday night in Melbourne.
