Props to the headliner.

Love the building there. It may have indoor plumbing.

2004-04-22 01:42:12 PM
Thanks. I had a little help from Jon Stewart and the Daily Show.

There's a water-cooler that says "Siemens" on it not far from where I work.
It's in Cumming, GA.
Yes it is.

2004-04-22 04:48:37 PM
It's okay. It's perfectly normal. It's not a big deal.

2004-04-22 04:49:08 PM
Was gonna say good headline until I realized it was ripped off. BAD headline.

The super-reliance on private contractors is, of course, the Achilles Heel of our Iraqi occupation.

Placing not only the credibility of our intentions but also of our foreign policy in the hands of private corporations is short-sighted in the extreme and reeks of crony capitalism.

Let's kick this thing into warp drive...

It's too bad that Bush is such a dumb fark that he couldn't put together a war strategy that didn't make us all look like a bunch of ass hats a year after our victory...

You'd have to be a seriously stupid motherfarker to vote for him this year.

2004-04-22 04:51:49 PM
U.S. officials have acknowledged that contractors have pulled out of Iraq...

They should know that's not an effective method, especially when premature evacuation is considered.

well spotted!

I don't know what's happened to me.

I used to last only seconds, then I turn 40 and now it takes me forever...

Some one has been waiting a long time (like since seventh grade) to use that joke.

What a big cock-up this is.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's all Bush's fault the terrorists are attacking.
Now the people won't have enough electricity.
Soon you'll be writing it's Bush's fault for that too.

snoreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..............

Speaking of The Daily Show, did anyone see last night's where Jon Stewart ripped on Gibson and Fox News? It was hilarious when Stewart was commenting on "the media" having an agenda and Gibson said "I know where you're going with that." Jon Stewart busted out laughing.

2004-04-22 05:01:14 PM
Who said anything about it being Bush's fault that the terrorists are attacking. See, that's the problem with they typical Bush voter. They have their asses so wide open to be filled with bullshiat that they don't pay attention to the stuff that's actually being said.

It's one thing to attack terrorists... It's another thing to go to war with absolutely zero strategy, under false pretenses, and without any support of the international community. This is a cluster fark. Period.

I have no problem with attacking terrorists. My problem is that we have one of the dumbest farkers to ever get elected running the operation.

Siemens should project an image of virility by standing tall while penetrating virgin markets instead of a limp withdrawl. They should take aim and shoot for success. Rise up and proudly thrust deeply into fertile opportunities.

Yeah, what kind of amazing psychic powers would you need to see that the post-war period wouldn't be a piece of cake?

Seriously, I can't believe people think Bush was supposed to go to all the trouble of ordering an invasion AND planning the post-war cleanup!? He's got other things to do than listen to rambling reports from the CIA about how Iraqis may not fellate us on a daily basis after we kill a lot of them.

2004-04-22 05:03:26 PM
Let's just watch it, ok captainradium?

2004-04-22 05:05:40 PM
captainradium , you sound like an enzyte commercial, nice.

2004-04-22 05:06:06 PM

A good start, but when will this simian be leaving? oh, siemens, nevermind.

2004-04-22 05:06:14 PM
The snore should go before the comment.

2004-04-22 05:06:33 PM
My mom works for siemens.

She says things have been going to hell there, mainly because they have to bribe every damn arab along the way just to get them to do the job they are supposed to be doing anyways.

Sturgeon637 - The Iraqi people have not had enough electricity and clean drinking water since our air forces bombed their infrastructure back to the stone age last year. That is one of the things the Iraqi people are complaining and rebelling about. Instead of hiring local Iraqis to help repair the country, Bush is hiring KBR, Bechtel, Halliburton and other foreigners to do the work. If you don't think Bush and Cheney had anything to do with this, wake up and smell the propaganda!

/still a great headline, even if its not original.

2004-04-22 05:08:15 PM
Yeah, I watch the Daily Show too. Get original.

I'm too tired to retype my "Minnesota Viking football announcer ejaculating 'Seman's all over the field!" story.

Jeff Seman, defensive great, good game, excited television announcer. You fill in the blanks.

2004-04-22 05:11:52 PM
I imagine the mujahedin find this amusing indeed.

Well, I would say it should be obvious to everyone by now that Bush's Iraq Thingy is completely FUBAR. Right now I'd say there is a 50-50 chance that we'll be seeing "the last chopper out of Baghdad" by the end of the year.

2004-04-22 05:13:42 PM
because they have to bribe every damn arab along the way just to get them to do the job they are supposed to be doing

From what I've read, it's customary among Arabs to give "gifts" to people who do something for you. Maybe our intelligence is so scarce that no one knew that. Then again, maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about.

2004-04-22 05:14:08 PM
She says things have been going to hell there, mainly because they have to bribe every damn arab along the way just to get them to do the job they are supposed to be doing anyways.

As someone who has worked in third-world countries (as opposed to, say, everyone involved in the post-war planning apparently) this is totally par for the course. I really doubt Siemens is surprised by having to spread a little cash around.

Back when the US Govt made you report cash over $10k on travel (to stop drug dealers) all it did was mean businesses had to send more people on trips so that they could each carry $9,500 for bribes to get things done. The no-bribing law Congress passed was completely asinine, too -- you can't get work done if the government clerk making $20 a month doesn't get his bribe. That's how he buys food for his family!

an amusing headline... but clearly a misuse of the amusing tag.. which is supposed to refer to the content of the article... which clearly isnt amusing.

Cygnis-x

There was a piece on NPR last night...can't remember if it was ATC or Marketplace, about the money deals in Iraq. Some of the worst offenders are the people who work as translators. They're necessary to get things done, so they'll demand a very high percentage of the contract.

2004-04-22 05:17:11 PM
Come on now, that can happen to ... oh, never mind.

2004-04-22 05:36:21 PM
Are we still calling the Iraqi citizens foreign terrorist? I was supporting Bush when everyone thought the Iraqis were evil people and going to give Al Quada WMDs, but that turned out tobe BS. I feel Bush owes the Iraqi citizens an apology. I know some might point out the mutilation of our contractors and soldiers, but there are people over here in American communities that would take much joy in mutilating our perceived enemy. Just look at an example like the Rodney King LA riots where the so-called bad seed of that community took over parts of LA and tortured people like Reginald Denny.

/ I do have a lot of respect for our soldiers, but they are not protecting us in Iraq they are just doing Bushs dirty work. I truly hope after Bush loses the election he goes thru something like our soldiers had to go through in Iraq, but this is only what should happen and not what will.
//Maybe some crazy person from here not a foreign will wipe that smirk off his face.
///not a Kerry fan, but will vote for him just to get this farktard out of office.

The poster admitted taking the headline from the Daily Show, so you can stop whining about it. It's funny enough to be used twice.

2004-04-22 06:01:35 PM
nice to see someone riping off the daily show instead of the daily show (and all other not realy news shows) ripping off fark =P

2004-04-22 06:03:31 PM
Oh, and by the way...if anybody out there in farkland was tempted to see this "hire the Baathists" move as a clever strategy, it is not.

This, my fellow farkers, is a sign of desperation, and is probably way too late. But on the bright side, now the mujahedin will have excellent spies at the highest levels of the CPA!

2004-04-22 06:04:36 PM
AAAAAAAAHHH SKEET SKEET SKEET SKEET!

2004-04-22 06:05:18 PM
Premature evacuation of seimens is actually news? oh, didn't RTFA.

2004-04-22 06:05:35 PM
Maybe they'll give Saddam his old job back now!

Not a terrible idea. They could send him back with a "bodyguard" of U.S. Marines, to make the place ship shape again. After all:

Under Saddam:
- Uday and Qusay kidnapping women off the street to rape
- Saddam's armed thugs terrorizing dissenters
- Saddam & family economically fleecing all of Iraq

Now:
- every pervert with a van kidnapping women off the street to rape
- Baathist, Sunni, Shi'ite, Wahabbi and Al Qaeda thugs terrorizing everybody, including the police
- Bechtel et al. economically fleecing all of Iraq

2004-04-22 06:05:35 PM No Such Agency: But under Saddam the electricity worked! When it's 135 degrees fahrenheit in Baghdad in late July, that is a very big deal!

2004-04-22 06:16:43 PM
Cygnis-x: I know what you mean. My dad got fired from siemens last July and from what he said things had been going to hell for a while before they laid him off.

Premature ejection????

(Airplane!!)

The way I see it, any ejaculation is a good ejaculation.

I blame Kerry/Kennedy

2004-04-22 06:47:08 PM
Sounds like they might have evacuation disfunction.

2004-04-22 06:47:51 PM
Retrograde evacuation?
