tag is in order for this.

He said he had counted 40 bodies at one Basra hospital. Among the dead were many children who had been traveling to kindergarten in a minibus that was caught in one blast.

I agree culbeda... yet the "religion of peace" will undoubtably post pictures of the aftermath and blame it on the coalition forces.

Those cunning devils. They KNEW there would be cops in those buildings!

Man, that does suck.

At least I still have this to console me... (SFW)
2004-04-21 01:49:17 AM
Basra is the Britain occupied city, right?
2004-04-21 01:49:35 AM
"They were vehicle-based improvised explosive devices"

Who decided on this BS jargon? They're farking car bombs.
2004-04-21 01:49:44 AM
Slightly off topic, but why do people continue to use buses in places like Israel? Does the past teach them nothing? I mean if a car bomb or bus bomb went off every week here in Toronto, I'd *probably* seek other means of transportation.
2004-04-21 01:50:38 AM
Whoa, that's Chimptacular! Chalk up 40 more brown peeps in the "Liberated" column.
2004-04-21 01:51:29 AM
Yeah Waffen-SS, I'd rather take the heel-toe express than get blown to pieces on a bus.

They are doing this to their own people. All smartass comments must stop. Lower your head and be grateful that you are among the living!

I hereby decree that anyone who posts in this thread with a message other than showing sympathy to those who died and their families is an asshat.

That is all

Politics be dammned, that place is a sad place right now and I don't care which side wants to point fingers at who, but SOMETHING's gotta change.
2004-04-21 01:55:40 AM
Move along...
2004-04-21 01:55:43 AM
Iraqi police officer = most dangerous occupation ever!

/well, close anyway.
2004-04-21 01:55:48 AM
OK, we've heard the sarcastic "religion of peace" crap, and we've heard the "it's Bush's fault" crap. These attacks are being carried out by throwbacks to a secular government, who are motivated by money, not religion. The people we're writing off as collateral damage are the ones who are religious, and up until the recent crap in Fallujah and Najaf they were mostly holding onto hope that we wouldn't screw them over again. Let's try to get over our bigotry and bias, and maybe together we can yell loud enough for the good people of Iraq to hear us over the gunfire.
2004-04-21 01:57:29 AM
What about the civilians we killed? I think we are wayyyyy ahead. Is it okay to mourn those civilians and be angry with the USA? Or can we only be angry with non USA folks?

why arent you drunk and celebrating the Leafs victory over the Sens? :)

on topic. . .

everyone should read this article. its rather depressing, but thought provoking if its even partially true.
2004-04-21 01:58:17 AM
you bastard, I just thought up the funniest joke ever invented in the history of mankind, and now I can't share it without looking like an asshat..
2004-04-21 01:58:27 AM
Some moron posting a "This Modern World" in a vain attempt to be funny or witty in 5, 4, 3, ...
2004-04-21 01:59:42 AM
What a mess. All that shiat that's going on over there is just plain sad. I just can't comprehend how these people can blow up their own people, especially children (I know it probably wasn't intentional, but still...)
2004-04-21 01:59:58 AM

not wanting to start a flame war because my stomach hurts and tearing up (probably a reaction to my own 2nd son being born 4 days ago) but...

We do kill children.

This just sucks. God damn it all...
2004-04-21 02:00:11 AM
So, if no british soldiers were among the dead or wounded what is the point of the bomb... not that these bombers ever have a justification... but why kill your own people?

This is terrible, those poor people and their families.
2004-04-21 02:00:39 AM

Give it to the military and let them translate it to arabic a word at a time..?
2004-04-21 02:00:50 AM

Considering the history of humanity, most groups have violent histories that consist of attempting to kill each other off for reasons that we now consider pretty petty.

And as for your allusions to racial superiority, screw that.

Poverty creates a situation where the power dynamic encourages violence.
2004-04-21 02:01:52 AM
We do kill children.

Hey, leave the National Organization of Women out of this!
2004-04-21 02:01:54 AM
If I read right, people were stoning the British troops to prevent them from getting to the police stations. It's a shame what's going on. I wish peace to everyone in the Middle East.
2004-04-21 02:02:17 AM
Ok they are bombing their own people. Hrmm can you say losers.

Well here comes the Iraq civil war.
2004-04-21 02:03:14 AM

Go f/ck yourself. Im not talking about Government Mandated Maternity.

jesus, someone already compares this to abortion. F/cking animals...
2004-04-21 02:03:48 AM
still don't see how you can consider arabs part of the civilized world. >> because all Arabs are the same?

You have Iraqis killing Iraqis>>we have killed far more.

, not only that, killing children. I'm sure there was plenty of military targets they could have gone after, but it's probably easier to go after civilians. I mean even if you believe the US is pure evil, they aren't going around killing children. They aren't trying to start a civil war. Rebuild what they rightly or wrongly destroyed and slowly hand over the country. The fact is the "uprisings" are from people who are not longer in power, or who will not longer have any power in the new country. And they have no problem killing their kin in vain attempts to hold onto whatever shred of power they still have.

If every arab person died tomorrow, what exactly would we miss? >>> can we just take out ARab and put in Black, Jewish, Irish or Mexican? Is that still as fun?

The suicide bombers, the terrorists.>> More civilians have died at the hands of Israel than vice if you are about civilians this should make you angrier..but I bet it does not.

The 100,000s of arabs who silently support them.>> Can I have your evidence of this? I would bet most of them like most of us just like living their life and would like to live it in peace with friend and family.

I look forward to the day that we kick our oil habit, and leave the middle east where it belongs, a dusty third world country.
There's as many madmen in Africa, they are just poor and can't hurt us. Hopefully the arabs will be relegated to that role soon enough. >>>Why do you think the Africans and ARabs are so bad? Genetics or what? Just curious cuz your tone implies as much. Please expand.
2004-04-21 02:03:50 AM
" casualties among British forces had been reported."

What was the point of this attack? To kill innocent Iraqis?
2004-04-21 02:03:59 AM
Maybe the CIA is behind it. Get the locals against the insurgents, etc.

/tinfoil hat
2004-04-21 02:04:50 AM
brownout I wasn't trying to be sarcastic with the "religion of peace" statement. I look at the situation in Iraq and the world in general as a calamity. There is nothing worse than the loss of innocent life and by innocent life I mean the youth. Be it by the hands of coalition forces or the hands of secular remnants, either way it is a travesty. Right now it's just a cock fight between both sides and the voices of reason are just drowned out. It would be nice if there was an easy solution to the problem but what is done is done. We can only hope for peace.
2004-04-21 02:05:10 AM
Blowing up kids. That actually brings tears to my eyes.
Farking asshats.

Being a father changes your views on a lot of things. It was probably unintentional that the kids got killed, but still.

I don't even know what to say. The 'war' has been over for a year. Yeah, ok.

/peace out
2004-04-21 02:07:20 AM

Chaos and instability will not help an occupying force, no matter who it kills. As long as the Iraqi people feel insecure, they will hate the power that they feel is responsible for their safety.

Right now, that is the coalition forces headed up by the USA
2004-04-21 02:07:28 AM
this planet sucks. i'm going home.

It seems as if no cost is too much for the ones that want us out of their country. Killing your own people? Come on now... When will that stop, When there is no left to leave the country to?
2004-04-21 02:12:53 AM
Seems to me that these attacks are because they want our troops out, but how can anybody in their right mind expect us to leave w/ shiat like this going on?
2004-04-21 02:15:38 AM
Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy takes out his phone and calls the emergency services.

He gasps: "My friend is dead! What can I do?" The operator says: "Calm down, I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence, then a gunshot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says: "OK, now what?"
2004-04-21 02:16:33 AM
Just reading some interesting Washington Post bit concerning hanky-panky with Pentagon transcripts of Rumsfeld/Woodward conversations:

apparently trying to fudge on the "take it to the bank" comments to Saudi Prince Bandar two months prior to invasion...
2004-04-21 02:17:12 AM

fark you.

What are we leaving to anyone? Control? Authority? LOL!!!!

Our military? No!

This "turnover of authority" is a jerk off session for votes.
