My jacket!

2004-04-08 06:22:30 AM
Too bad he doesn't live in America, where he would've been free to decide whether or not to wear the sticker in question. Huh? He was in Connecticut? Oh... well, nevermind then.
Dumbass.

I know the motto here is 'It's not news, it's Fark.com', but this story appears worthy of neither.

2004-04-08 06:28:20 AM
Oh it's one of those "I'm not responsible for my own actions" claims

2004-04-08 06:28:21 AM
Ok i know i am bored at work, but this did not wake me, instead made me more tired...YAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNN

Whats not dangerous and exciting about the government tricking poor, trusting citizens into destroying their own clothing?

Welcome to the USA.
To ensure you can fit in perfectly, here's you D.I.Y frivolous lawsuit kit. When used with your " How to whinge about everything and take no responsibility" handbook, this can lead to untold wealth.

- wish eejits like this would stop giving decent americans a bad name

2004-04-08 06:41:18 AM
Can I sue certain Americans for giving me blinding headaches bought on by an inability to understand how anyone can be that stupid? I can? Cool!

SUSTAINED!

I'd call it Solomonic. I mean, what more fitting punishment can you think of for a man who wears a suede coat?

2004-04-08 06:47:00 AM
Stamford Director of Legal Affairs Tom Cassone said Bonoff will not be compensated. The city is not liable for damage caused by stickers handed out at the polls, city-sponsored blood drives or other events, he said

In an off the record comment, Tom Cassone went on the say, "If he voted for Kerry, he got what he deserved. He should also be slapped for being a dumbass."

2004-04-08 06:47:49 AM
AND it was raining on election day, so he's got all these spots all over the jacket...and he could only vote at lunchtime, thus was forced to eat at the drivethru and spilled scalding hot coffee all over the coat....

Man, by the time he finishes in court, those incompetent bastards will be SORRY.

/representing the cow from whom the suede was stolen in the first place.

If they went ahead and slaped this sticker on his chest as he was coming out of the booth, I could totally understand it. But someone handed it to him, and he apparently put it on himself. Sucks to be you, buy a new coat.

2004-04-08 06:54:51 AM
poor guy, his first experience with suede should have been a magical era of condecension and paranoia, yet he fell for the proletariat/bureaucrat sticker scheme. not only does he deserve a new jacket, but the city council should formally apologize for his wardrobe malfunction via town crier.

/hear ye.

Non-parler French. Only le fake French. So here go-ez:

Farkez vous for having la Alizee on le profil. I can't-ez stoppez looking.

2004-04-08 07:11:48 AM
Perhaps somebody should have told him they were self-adhesive stickers...no super glue needed.

I think this moron voted in Palm Beach County, Florida back in 2000.

2004-04-08 07:18:25 AM
Uranus,

I've just tripled the problem...

2004-04-08 07:21:25 AM
He should've turned it inside-out. Better to get the adhesive on the pink-striped lining than the suede, eh?

2004-04-08 07:25:10 AM
Democratic Registrar of Voters Alice Fortunato said she told Bonoff to get the coat cleaned and bill the city.

Doen't this say everything. Big Daddy Gov't will take care of your stupidity.

2004-04-08 07:27:47 AM
Doesn't...I meant Doesn't!

Back off Spelling Nazis!

2004-04-08 07:30:07 AM
Well I read the article three times, and I still didn't see the part where the put a gun to his head.

Maybe we will get warning stickers for stickers now.

she was actually just passing the buck, republican style.

2004-04-08 08:07:41 AM
Did he just leave the sticker on there for a month? Aren't you supposed to remove them? Perhaps he has a special voting-day suede coat. What a dip.

2004-04-08 08:16:10 AM
OK, I've read through the comments, and I finally have something new to add to a thread:

$106 for a suede jacket? WTF? No wonder it was ruined by a little sticker. Probably smells like fish when it rains, too.

2004-04-08 08:35:04 AM
Should have turned it inside out, or did he have a liner problem?

2004-04-08 08:44:10 AM
He should have slapped it on his forehead or -skin. Jacket is saved.

Either way his rep is shiat.

/Just sayin

2004-04-08 08:53:42 AM
Uranus,

Yes, there's been a spate of kitten killings in recent weeks. The Cat Protection League are looking for a suspect prowling the streets in an ankle-length suede coat.

2004-04-08 09:04:32 AM
We had a funny guy with us in Korea. A tailgunner. They blew his brains out all over the Pacific.

There's nothing funny about that

[/obscure to the youngsters maybe]

Thats what I was thinking, except for the fish part.

A suede jacket? Who the hell is this guy Jon Voight?

Gee, he's a Democrat? Who'd have guessed?

2004-04-08 09:07:41 AM
hate those stickers -- it's like running a gauntlet escaping the sticker lady on the way out of the polls...

Cause a Republican would be wearing the skins of virgin children, and a little Varsol would take the glue off that.

2004-04-08 09:13:14 AM
OOOOOOH! I think since is seems slightly political I'm going to pretend like it's going to be a flame war and do a count down!! and then 5 people are going to do the same thing!!

/ooooo! Navy Seals!

2004-04-08 09:18:54 AM
Definitely should have a dumbass tag.

It's the best show on television (sad it's done for over ANOTHER year now).

ChairmanKaga -

I do believe you're right! Probably cute fuzzy puppies, too!

2004-04-08 09:54:39 AM
It sounds like HE put the sticker on himself!

Also, what the fark good is suede anyway? Isn't it just the worst crap ever foisted on the public? I bought some suede boots once - didn't know any better - and they were HORRIBLE! I ended up just waxing them like regular leather to get them to be waterproof.

Suede sucks!

ChairmanKaga --
I thought the Republicans used all those skins for lamp shades?

2004-04-08 10:02:35 AM
Well you can do anything but stay off of my new suede coat.

/not Elvis

2004-04-08 10:08:16 AM
Once I got a back stage pass at a Guns and Roses concert. It was a huge triangle sticker that I affixed to my suede jacket. 14 years later, that jacket still has a black triangle on it.

/feelin' this brother's pain

2004-04-08 10:18:43 AM
beaters,

No, virgin child skin is too expensive for lamp shades. For that, they use alterboy skin.

2004-04-08 10:21:26 AM
i work as an election inspector in my hometown, the stickers are given out voluntarily. everyone is asked to wear one, but you can decline. the dumbass shoulda put it on his shirt. and i agree with scratchee, that musta been one helluva cheap coat

2004-04-08 10:24:53 AM
robbyking: First thing I thought of!!

As painful as it is to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm, I just can't get enough of it.

2004-04-08 10:46:03 AM
I object!

Any good republican would not use virgin child skin for a garment. There are too many of them. We're into endangered species clothing, a la C. Montgomery Burns.

*singing* See My Vest, See My Vest....

"For that, they use alterboy skin."

.....and for handbags they use foreskin. one quick rub and you have a suitcase
