Oh, and VEEEERY crappy satire too. BBSpot, I'd like to contact the better business bureau and report you, but I'd rather completely forget about you forever.

2004-04-06 02:18:49 AM
Sad but true.. Didnt they actually go in when there was no WMD?? Seems me to me posting a satire link about something they really did is silly..

/WMD? oh they are under the couch!

2004-04-06 02:19:54 AM

If Saddam had ever complied with the terms of the end of the Kuwait invasion and had allowed inspectors (rather than kicking them all out), then we would've known this for sure.

But I'm sure that most people on the left find Saddam Hussein more palatable than George W. Bush.

2004-04-06 02:20:49 AM
...just to get the off-topic flame war started.

2004-04-06 02:21:20 AM
If the US would have just left that part of the world alone to begin with most of these things going on now wouldnt be.

Take your bully attitudes to lesser people and move on.. Now my country lives in fear for terror because the US butted in where they didnt belong.. Just linke in Vietnam.

2004-04-06 02:26:03 AM

Wee Man insurgent.

2004-04-06 02:26:56 AM
This satire is so poor, I'm betting it's fairly flame retardant.

l34qfm: Take your bully attitudes to lesser people and move on.. Now my country lives in fear for terror because the US butted in where they didnt belong.. Just linke in Vietnam.

We did and will. No worries little brother from the north, you don't have anything anyone wants. I keed, kinda ;)

2004-04-06 02:33:27 AM
From l34qfm's profile...

"i hate people who think they are better than anyone else.. "
"HATES QUEBEC(if you were in Canada you'd understand) Cannot stand 1 single American, ask the world.. they all have about the same reasons."

Reminds me of a quote... (not verbatim)
I hate two things. People who are intolerant of other cultures, and the dutch.

/end rant

2004-04-06 02:34:27 AM
"we did and will..." now theres something the rest of the world already knew.. Isreal.. Has the us to help em hammer down on people it invaded, Iraq has the us hammering on them as well (But some are fighting back).. Who's next? Castro?? Maybe if for once your policy's actually helped out the world, the US wouldnt be so disliked in so many places in the world?? I know spend a trillion dollars on researching cures and stuff, and save a trillion on your smoking hole makers(nukes..

Yup.. Being an American must be a proud thing.. Beat up the little guy just so long as we get what we want.. Even if we are WRONG about why...

2004-04-06 02:36:14 AM
Ya my profile is right.. Dont like the french or Americans, for the same reasons.. they just go blindly forth without thinking about the damages they cause.. thinking they are "better" at dealing with issues...

2004-04-06 02:38:23 AM
Cripes! Is l34qfm some other language word meaning 'sphincter dog whistle'?

2004-04-06 02:46:49 AM
Get Smart pwnz but this thing was an abomination. Max is much more intelligent than Dubya and wouldn't stoop to his level.

2004-04-06 02:48:40 AM
Let's drop the WMD bullshiat for a minute. That's all of your time I ask for.

OBL has been declaring war on the US for a long time now. Even wrote it down in a cute thing called a fatwah(sp?). Those fatwah things equate to some kind of religious contract by the way. We didn't take him serious enough and got 9/11.

SH has been declaring death to Americans for a long time now. I'm glad we didn't ignore him.

Just so you know. OBL was/is against Western Culture period. That includes you quiet types up north.

Don't like our foriegn policies? Fine, speak out and call us whatever you want. Declare war on us, no matter how insignificant you may seem, and expect a good carpet bombing.

2004-04-06 02:52:50 AM
Brewski_OR you just made my point for me.. You do not know how to talk policy, you would rather bomb someone back to the stone age.

As for the people hating you? Umm it kinda started south of the border! The US has been playing with other countries internal politics since before the cold war. That is what has gotten so many "threats" comming at them. You start it and you think that its the other guy's fault for not liking you? Kind of a circular arguement inst it? We made them mad, but it's there fault now if they are still mad at us??? Doesn't make sence to me.

/Glad to be @ work and bored....

2004-04-06 02:56:36 AM
After reading the X-Entertainment article, this one just seems even more painful.

At least the AskMen articles stopped showing up after a while.

2004-04-06 03:04:37 AM
Brewski_OR you just made my point for me.. You do not know how to talk policy, you would rather bomb someone back to the stone age.

No I didn't. And I never said I like bombing. What I said is that for two people who declared war on the US business isn't going well. I could care less if they like me or my country. They can say and do whatever, including taking rational actions to try to change things they don't like.

My point is this: Declare war on the US after 9/11 and we will oblige. Anyone calling for our deaths should be beaten to the punch.

2004-04-06 03:12:51 AM
And you missed my point. The US caused this from years of helping out Countries they knew were wrong with thier policies.. AKA Isrial. The US has the ability to shove peace down thier throats and solve half the problems in the middle east but doesnt have the moxey to try.. The UN can push though thousands of things on issues, but the US will always say "Nope" and it never happens. You want to be loved int he world.. Start with isreal, and you might actually notice that you will get more support, and be thought of better for having resolved an important issue for that area of the world. Going after all the other countries because 1 person there said or did something is pointless and is costing to many lives. It's like 500 now dead for the US? at what point does it become to costly to keep going down the same road? 1000? 10000? or even 100000?

Smart people would look at it and say it is wrong, and rather than try to use force to get a point accross, maybe try stretching out the helping hand. Sure it will get smacked alot at first because it has been tried before, but the out stretched hand has mostly slapped the people it was trying to help.

Takes 2 people to make war, only takes 1 person to aim for peace....

2004-04-06 03:23:56 AM
l34qfm: The whole idea of isolationism was discredited in 1915 when the Germans sent 124 Americans to the bottom of the ocean, and then in 1941, when the Japanese tried to do the same thing with our Pacific fleet. We learned that it is better to act earlier, rather than later.

And, since you bring up Israel, remember that the same process that created a country for the Jews also created a country for the Arabs in the area that were unwanted by any of the locals (these people are now known as Palestinians). Unfortunately for them, they *rejected* the offer, as they felt that Israel could easily be destroyed. So don't feel bad for the Palestinians, they got exactly what they wanted.

2004-04-06 03:33:23 AM
Your Isreal arguement is a sham. If Arabs cared so much for the Palestinians why don't they take them in and nourish them? They don't because they see Palestinians as a means to further their cause. What cause? Islam.

The US was not alone setting up Isreal as a solution to a post world war problem. The US didn't draw the lines that are now considered countries for nomadic arabs. We didn't create this problem alone. What would you suggest? Stand by and allow the arabs to slaughter the jews?

You can point your fingers at the US all day and claim we created this problem, but in fact many countries have had a hand in creating them. Your's is not exempt either.

And I will remind you that SH attempted to invade Kuwait. People tend to forget this little tidbit. Do you think he would have stopped there?

2004-04-06 03:36:50 AM
Well Actually, The "Arabs" were the ones pushed out, they were not given a voice on the issue, that was done by the Power that be after ww2. Before 1948 there was only Arab states, but someone smart thought it would be good to start pushing them around back then...

When United Nations partitioned Palestine between Israel and its Arab occupants, war broke out in 1948 between Israel and neighbouring Arab states. With imperialist backing, Israel annexed a large swath of Arab land, expelling the Arab inhabitants. There have been five Arab-Israeli wars, each won by Israel. Each time Israel has annexed more Arab land. All this has only been made possible by Israel receiving full backing of the main imperialist powers. At first these were mainly Britain and France. Later, after the failure of a combined British, French and Israeli attack in 1956, the US became top dog which it has been ever since. It has kept Israel supplied with $4 billion of aid a year and also the latest in high-tech weaponry. In return, Israel plays the role of defender of US strategic and oil interests in the Middle East. Of course, periodically, as in the Gulf War, these interests become a single strongpoint for oil magnates and the military.

Like shoving peace down Saddam's throat?

Damned if we do and damned if we don't.

Didn't know that. Can you point me to any trustworthy sites covering this?

2004-04-06 03:55:32 AM
what peace did you do there? it's still a war zone.. doesnt seem like there is peace there.. Isreal.. just withold the military equipment and the money, then they would actually listen to the US and settle for peace in the region.

Takingout Saddam just made it worce not better, its just a power vacuum in that country now with no hope of peace once the US leaves now.. wil become tribal wars for years to come.

2004-04-06 03:57:53 AM
l34qfm,

Israel has also returned land in a show of good faith when it was strategic to do so. Just ask Egypt.

Simple fact is that the Palestinians, and others, will be happy with nothing short of a complete dissolution of Israel.

And I get the feeling from your posts that you feel exactly the same way.

Other intelligence failures Smart reported include:

The loss of surveillance capability resulting from a camera disguised as a potato chip Pretzle being eaten by a security guard the president.

Pure lib gold here folks I tell ya'.

/Ok so gin ain't helping here

And how is power vacuum, which I don't believe will be the case, any worse? My understanding is that it has always been a tribal system. I suppose the Sunnis are not as happy as they used to be now that their tribe no longer in complete control and can gas Kurds.

Of course we all know the current CIA Director was appointed by Clinton

lol - varezz. I should add a 'k' later ;)

2004-04-06 04:32:03 AM
Actually i have nothing wrong with Isreal at all. I have many jewish friends, they dont agree with some of my US stand point but they do agree about makeing peace is done by not making war on people.. which was my whole point.. Unless you can bomb it, sniper it, sneak and attack it.. the US just doesnt want to be apart of it.. Which is also cool.. But it would be nice for them to admit thats what they are trying to do.. I don't have to agree with why they do it, so long as they are open about it. I mean look at GWB, PLS tell me none of you americans beleive he "didnt know anything". God at least Clinton was a stand up guy! He admitted he didnt have sex with the woman..(but if you would have asked him if he played with cigars with her.. might have been different). I am all for going out and getting the job done, but for the right reason's not because they needed somone to attack... And if you one can actually prove Sadam was a threat to the US.. better get em to Washington.. lol no one there has any and thats starting to look ugly :)

2004-04-06 04:53:18 AM
l34qfm,
I don't have the answers either. I'm pretty certain that the US didn't create the world's problems alone though.

World peace would be a wonderful thing. I find it odd how the world wants to villify the US for acting against villianous people who want no part of peace though. Saddam wasn't a nice man who wanted world peace. He has proved it time and time again.

Our approach in Iraq may not be the best - but it is an approach. I hear a lot people screaming that it is wrong but I hear very few offer up an alternative plan. And no, letting them slap our hands until they get their way is not a plan. Spain isn't getting anywhere with that approach, the demands just keep growing.

If any other dictators are listening right now and want peace I would recommend refraining from declaring war on the US in the future. It's not gonna help.

2004-04-06 04:56:58 AM
i think you have to have seen "get smart" to find this one funny. both of which i did very much.

2004-04-06 05:09:02 AM
goodnight l34qfm. It's past my bedtime.

Peace.

2004-04-06 05:09:05 AM

Smart: Ah, the old pretend-we-have-WMD's-to-confuse-intelligence-and- appease-the-dictator trick.

Senator Chafee: Director Smart! Do you realize that you have led the nation into war and caused our nation to invade another sovereign state under false pretenses?

xactly what is going on now. cia makes the safe call in saying they got the stuff; now he's being excoriated for 'lying.'

i don't think i have ever seen lying as loosely defined as this.

kudos to whoever invented that motif for the campaign - i think a lot of people are buying!

2004-04-06 05:16:12 AM
WordUP: The resolution was United Nations Resolution 181, which passed with a 2/3rd vote in 1947. This was the plan to partition Palestine into Jewish and Arab states.

Finding "unbiased" commentary is, as you might imagine, difficult, but the short history is that the Arab nationalist movement in Palestine, as well as the Arab states, rejected the partition plan, and immediately after the formation of the State of Israel in 1948, the Arab League invaded Israel, only to be defeated. In 1949 Israel signed armistice agreements with Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria, and gained the territory that it (roughly) has today. Maps and links to the agreements here

2004-04-06 05:32:30 AM
I remind everyone that the Judea-Samaria squatters (Palestinians) were the ones jumping for joy on 9/11. Fark them. I say toss them all on trucks and ship them out. Let their Arab bretheren be real men and take care of them.

Hint to all Arabs: Stop fighting wars with Israel. You keep getting your head handed to you, because God is not on your side.

2004-04-06 06:18:27 AM
Cheers, cannibolic. I got me some readin' to do.

2004-04-06 08:57:00 AM
Brewski_OR must be nice to sleep at night, im always working it :(

2004-04-06 09:14:04 AM
The whole idea of isolationism was discredited in 1915 when the Germans sent 124 Americans to the bottom of the ocean

You mean when 124 Americans were on a ship that was loaded with weapons and ammunition for the British that was torpedoed by the Germans?

Both wars against Germany were necessary to protect our economic interests (read: huge loans to the Allies).

2004-04-06 09:21:56 AM
I thought this was actually quite funny. I still enjoy Get Smart. It's sad that this had started a mini flame war.

2004-04-06 09:22:35 AM
Yes but even the second war could have been made to end alot quicker.. If the britsh and french didnt keep giving into the NAZI BAST**D who was in charge at the time..

but what do i know from reading history and trading countries for peace and all...

/6 million dead, and a select few to blame for that one!

2004-04-06 09:40:27 AM
We missed Osama by that much.

2004-04-06 10:19:12 AM
NOT FUNNY

/somebody had to say it...

2004-04-06 10:58:41 AM
I don't know what's sadder, the fact that I found that article mildly funny, or the fact that I just NOW realized that nearly every Get Smart episode uses the a lot of the same jokes/gags.
