Forget the certs and acronyms; look at the facts.
Draw your own conclusions.
I have.
Until you do, you're a tool.

No, it would merely clarify it.

The topic is nugatory2's mom's lips.

You know what howlingfrog, I have drawn my own conclusions. I was a tool for three years(just not the kind you mean), and once I was out and free to speak my mind I did.
If you're insulting me for posting an honest plea for people to stop arguing and begin civilized discussions, then you are just a sad example of why these things get out of hand.

I don't think you understand what I was trying to say. Thansk for the advice though.

Hi.
My name is Mr. Kerry. I was running for President. I'm now gonna half ass it and hope to get defeated, since I don't wan't to inherit this thoughtless shiathole mess Mr. Bush dragged us through.

Yo! My name is Mr. Dubya. hehe. I'm gonna make this the biggest shiathole mess ever!!!LOLROTFLMFAO1111!!! You'd bettest feel better to vote for me since I'm more prepared to take care of this shiathole I've created.

Interesting development up on the LATimes site:

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/iraq/la-fg-fallouja5apr05,1,5684702.st ory?coll=la-home-headlines

Marines Encircle Fallouja

"Thousands of Marines surrounded this anti-American stronghold early today in preparation for a complex raid to retake control of the city and apprehend those responsible for last week's slayings of four U.S. security contractors...."

2004-04-05 01:48:15 AM
""I just choose not to fall for them like a dumbass""

""like a dumbass, I just choose not to fall for them""

The first one, which is poor grammar, means unlike some dumbasses, I do not fall for CNNs BS.

Your sentance means (because it is a fragment and out of context, but that isn't your fault) that I am a dumbass and in spite of that I choose not to fall for that.

2004-04-05 01:51:35 AM
Equally interesting is that the "thousands of Marines" in their headline is actually in the neighborhood of 2500.

2004-04-05 01:52:36 AM
or lead paragraph, rather. not in the headline...

GOOD. I hope we get lots and lots of pictures of that as well. Asshats. Stupid fundies.

But honestly I hope they don't just rip them to pieces. Faethe's solution - everyone gets a spanking with no pants and the people who did that to the bodies of those people get a very personal parade through the center of Baghdad. Naked. Was I insulting you?

Please offer an explanation of how your heart-wrenching drivel has anything whatsoever to do with the situation at hand (Iraq).

Because I don't think you can. But let me reiterate:

"Consider the way you all felt and how your hearts were wrenched from your chests the day that group of terrorists hijacked four planes and attacked this country on live television, in front of your eyes. Do you remember the way your heart sank as people trapped by fire chose to jump from a burning building? How your stomachs lurched as the towers collapsed? Do you know how many of us wished for the swift and immediate response of a nuclear attack on the perpetrators of those heinous acts?"

I repeat: WTF?

If you want to be a Bush mouthpiece, yer photoshopping with MS Paint.

Instead of the shoe, why not tie a fat juicy pork chop around their necks, shoot them in the face while making their family watch, then rubbing the remains with pig entrails before burning them in a pit?

For you stupid farkers that think our occupation is a good and noble cause in Iraq, read about the French occupation of Algiers. Better yet watch a movie about it:

http://imdb.com/title/tt0058946/

With a nifty Ennio Moricone soundtrack I might add.

And see where this gets you.

No ignorance here. I see the reports on CNN as well. I just choose not to fall for them like a dumbass. I don't belittle peopel of differing opinions. Hypocrite

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I could of sworn you were calling people names.

I don't have cable so I don't watch CNN nor Fox. I get my news off of the Net. I find it a little less filtered. Let me know if you're interested in some links. One I find very handy is informaionclearinghouse.info. They have a great daily news letter with links to news stories from around the world.

Except Heap, you didn't examine why I insulted him. It wasn't because of his different views/lifestyle choice. Nice try tho.

Another good one, that's the second time today you've made some gay comment to me. Hate to disappoint you but I'm straight.

Seriously though you got to start getting you news from more places. This crap is way beyond party lines. Fark, I bet in some smokey room right now the republicans have a plan B just in case Bush craters.

howlingfrog You can say whatever you want, man, cause that's your right. But...
You don't think September 11th had anything to do with Iraq? I know it did, and does.
And my "heart-wrenching drivel" has everything to do with what I was trying to say about the out of control attitudes. Where is the fellowship and commraderie? Where is the caring about others feelings? You apparently don't care, but some of us do.

not at all, Wake 'n Bake... just be sure not to forget to mention the bills (S 89 and HR 163 - bills to provide for the common defense by requiring that all young persons in the United States, including women, perform a period of military service or a period of civilian service in furtherance of the national defense and homeland security, and for other purposes) are both sponsored by democrats (Ernest Hollings and Charles Rangel).

But isn't one of them an anti-war ploy? I could've sworn there was a big flap over a democrat introducing a draft bill, and when he was questioned about it, he said that there were only a handful of Congressmen and women with children serving in the armed forces, and something to the effect that "Perhaps Congress will be more judicious about declaring war if they know it will involve their offspring."

2004-04-05 02:41:25 AM
Included in the Iraqi civilian body count page (www.iraqbodycount.net) are civilians killed by foreign/Iraqi terrorist bombs (roadside, car, suicide, etc).

Terrorists bombing Iraqis != Americans killing Iraqis.

Rest in peace brothers.

I know who said it and what the rest of the story says.
Do you have facts that we don't?
By all means, please share your knowledge with the rest of us.
What I was referring to in my original post was the way people treated each other after the attacks.

Oh, and btw, "Mohammed Atta met Saddam Hussein in Baghdad prior to September 11. We have proof of that, and we are sure he wasn't just there for a holiday," Richard Perle told Italy's business daily "Il Sole 24 Ore".

"You don't think September 11th had anything to do with Iraq? I know it did, and does."

Oh?

"Where is the fellowship and commraderie?"

With the world? Bush pretty well pissed it away. With each other? It's still there.

"Where is the caring about others feelings? You apparently don't care, but some of us do."

I think I've been majorly misrepresented here.

Good night, all.

i didn't claim to have facts that no one else has, relaximus...but if you are going to tell us to stifle, unless we are NSA/CIA/007, i can hardly think of a better source of information for you then the president of the united states.
do you honestly think if there were ties between *any* of the september 11th attackers and iraq...that the bush administration wouldn't be screaming it from the rooftops? the Perle statement has been out there since sept. '02, so its not like it is breaking news.

hell, they even backed off of the 'atta meets iraqi security agent in turkey' claim...and the 'atta meets iraqi intelligence agent in prague' claim...that's what lead to the above quote. it was discredited up one side and down the other.

if you're looking for a reason for the loss of togetherness and united feeling of purpose following september 11th, i'll point you towards Iraq. hard to get a more devisive topic on the plate then that one.

Well that must be all that high grade plutonium they have been harvesting from breeder reactors that's made them a serious threat to the western hemisphere!
They do NOT have ICBMs. They can NOT strike us with a Nuke. They way they are going they would have one helluva time hitting India with any degree of accuracy.

FYI: Pakistan enriches uranium. they've been doing it for over a decade.
I WASN'T trying to tell you what weapons they do or do not have....
Incase you missed my point i was saying that their technology ISN'T 50 years behind americas and they CAN do more then a 'dumbass clockwork Hiroshima jobby'.

being a devils advocate....it seems like they want are help. its just they hate western culture so much. i mean, look at saudi arabia, they like us (sort of) but not really. they dont want us on their land or anything like that. anyways, iraq will never be a democracy, itll take generations, unless you have a dictatorship and rule with an iron fist for a grip of time. just think about it, they hate our culture because they still believe in islamic faith. islam is our new communism, theres nothing to do but just wait for it to collapse (which it wont).

just think of us as the greeks and them as the cyclops, fark them....

I'm a Lebanese, so I have some first hand knowledge about how guerilla war works in that part of the world. I saw how Hezbollah successfully fought a guerilla campaign against the Israelis until they were too terrified to leave their hilltop Crusader castles. I can tell you this, pissed off Shi'ites are a people you don't want to fark with.

Here is a glimpse into the mind of Muqtada al-Sadr the hardline cleric behind this uprising:

A radical Shiite Muslim cleric has expressed solidarity with the militant Palestinian group Hamas and said that he should be considered the group's "striking arm" in Iraq. "I have said and I repeat my expression of solidarity which Hassan Nasrallah called for to stand with Hamas," Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr said Friday in a reference to Nasrallah, the leader of the militant Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah. Last month, Nasrallah announced that his party would close ranks with Hamas. "Let (Hamas) consider me their striking arm in Iraq because the fate of Iraq and Palestine is the same," al-Sadr said during a Friday prayer sermon in Kufa, his home base south of Baghdad. He did comment on what he meant by the phrase. '

Here's a picture of Hassan Nasrallah

scared? naaah.

i'm a firm believer in 'you get what you ask for'.

if america asks for 4 more years of this shiat, its what we'll get, no matter what bush spends.

about the only thing i'm looking forward to after the upcoming election is after midnight Nov 2, 2004 'But Clinton!' ceases to be a subject for conversation.

food for thought... maybe it's peoples views on islam(their religion) that makes them not want America on their land.

example...from your post
'they hate our culture because they still believe in islamic faith. islam is our new communism'

wtf, they STILL believe in islam? How stupid of them. Thats almost as bad as believing in God or Santa Clause(sarcasm)

i dont knwo about you... but i wouldnt want someone who thinks me and my beliefs are evil to stand on my land. i'd actually fight to keep him off.

2004-04-05 03:25:36 AM
pacifisticradical,
I believe Bush's war chest only does him good until the convention. After the convention they each get about $75 million from public funds and can't use previous donations. So that should help Kerry some.

wow, well I guess any thread commenting on Iraq is gonna reach infinity pretty fast. quite a read to get down to this point, and you know what I've obseved, pattern-wise?

apparent Dems on the thread keep reasoning from history, arguing lost lives, arguing principles, arguing the deceptions of the Repubs.

the apparent Repubs on the thread pop up to say "you're all fools if you don't believe _____ " and everyone spends 20 comments refuting them into the ground.

why be on the defensive? in all likelihood, half of these trolls are twelve year olds.

I can't help but think that there must be a better use for these minds than arguing here.

/yes, I'm here, too, but not for long. off to bed.

How sad is it that the people we get to vote for strike me as the type of people that might make average mid-level managers at Wal-Mart?

wow, that is sad. I've never thought of it that way before. I know some brilliant, well-informed, kind and principled people -- but they'd never make it in our political system, would they?

2004-04-05 03:51:05 AM
I've been thinking about the '04 election. If Bush wins, we are farked of course. More war. More deficit spending. More lost jobs. More social and economic division amongst the citizenry. But let's say Kerry gets elected. He will be saddled with a giant mess. One that I'm not sure even the most creative administration could dig us out of. It will make the supposed economic problems that Bush inherited from Clinton look like a Sunday stroll in the park.

So, maybe the best thing that can happen is to give the US and the world 4 more years of Bush. That way, there can be no doubt exactly whose fault this mess is. If Kerry gets elected then the Republicans will make sure to smear him from day one and block any attempts by him to set things right. They will also easily succeed in getting their sheep-like constituency to blame Kerry for problems that are really Bush's doing. I am voting for Kerry, but I cannot shake that some of this holds true. If we get 4 more years of Bush, by the end of it people will be so sick of the bloodshed and economic woe (just to name a few) that it shouldn't be too hard to succesfully push a lot of these idiotic neo-con politics back to the margins where it belongs.

/rambling- I know

2004-04-05 03:58:53 AM
sonnyboy11, it's not just a matter of apportioning blame for the problems of the past three years. If nothing else, think of the additional lives that would be lost if Bush started a war with Syria or Iran on the same flimsy pretexts as George and Dick's Bogus Iraq Adventure.

Lick Bush in 2004!!!

2004-04-05 04:08:59 AM
Seeing "x" number of soldiers killed in (fill in the current bit of the Risk board 'Shrub' - aka Baby Bush - is currently trying to amass armies in) isn't news. It's news when either ALL the killing stops, or EVERYONE gets killed.

They're military people in an armed conflict. Sure, it's a shiatty situation that Shrub had no business sticking his uneducated nose in. But it's a situation where everyone has guns and there's a fair bit of animosity.

People get killed when this sort of thing goes on. Get over it.

Seeing headlines like this is the same as reading daily headlines about how many people got aced by suicide bombers in (fill in an Arab country). Who cares? I'm waiting for the headline that reads: "Last Palestinian alive straps on the C4 moneybelt, kills last surviving Israeli, and self". Now that's news.

All this crap making headlines is like reading story after story of "Mechanic returns home from work with grease on hands!" Enough already.

The reconstruction of Iraq? What ever happened to the good old days of genocide?

2004-04-05 04:13:13 AM
I know, BrotherLove. No doubt that is true. Today has me in a real funk. I cannot handle seeing more of our people die for this ill-conceived war. But then, when you read through this thread, you see plenty of... Bush supporters (see? I play nice) who think that in spite of the hideous deaths and animosity towards us that this was all still a good idea. My God, it wasn't. It was the worst move ever by a sitting president, I believe. I can stomach war when necessary but this? This is not a noble cause and these soldiers are dying only because they have no choice but to do their duty.

As for Kerry, I am not sure there is anyway to immediately ramp down on the violence directed at our troops if he gets elected. So the Republicans will be able to reverse rolls. Let's say more people start dying there once Kerry is elected. The Repubs will start saying it's because Kerry doesn't know how to handle the situation. And the Repub voters will bleat along in unison that this must be the case. When probably, it would happen even if Bush was re-elected. The difference being that it's ok with the Repub sheeple if it keeps happening on Bush's watch.

blah

2004-04-05 04:21:18 AM
habraham, Maybe thats what they teach you in school in Lebanon, but Israel got out of Lebanon because of political reasons. If Israel wanted it could take over entire Lebanon, it had the chance to do it twice before when it's army reached the capital.
Why don't you tell us how the Hezzbollah is terrorising south Lebanon ?

It's also interesting that you glorify a murdering terrorist like Hassan Nasrallah.
