I've long advocated the sale of pot at rinks sponsering youth hockey leagues. It mellows everyone out.

In interest of full disclosure I must admit I am a nacho chip salesman

Enough with farkers misreading articles and writing misleading headlines already. Fark!

The article clearly states the idea is neither to sell beer at youth hockey games and especially not to minors.

The group is seeking an alcohol sales permit to sell beer to adults at events attended primarily by adults.

Hockey and beer go together like ... beer and Wheaties.

They're doing it all wrong... I once played a fundraising gig for a private Catholic school. The organizers got the parents all liquored up on beer and wine and THEN started the auction.

They made a fortune. Pure brilliance.

Once again..Bad headline.

Just drink in the locker room before and after like my team.

In other news, Youth Hockey League reports record attendance...

Sorry, I had to say it even though its lame.

if only they can figure out a way to involve porn too . . .

2004-03-13 10:29:42 AM
Yeah, like coaches and hockey parents need to be any more unstable.

2004-03-13 10:34:39 AM
LOL MorningBreath!!

2004-03-13 10:35:41 AM
they already have it at chuck e cheese, why not youth hockey? Better yet, why not serve it during parent/teacher meetings? just a thought!

2004-03-13 10:48:40 AM
Does anyone really think that the people who posted comments actually thought they were going to sell beer to minors? No, this is Fark, land of smarta$$es. Deal with it.

2004-03-13 10:49:46 AM
sell weed instead. there'll be no more fights, and pizza sales will skyrocket.

/didn't read the article

so one dude wigged out and attacked a ref. BFD. if the guy had wigged out and killed 3 people on the subway it would be 10th page news

What they really need is tequila.

submitter
Why is this stupid? Beer sales = more revenue for youth hockey.

They aren't selling it to kids.

AND parents are idiots in ANY sport - not just hockey.

/Wasn't there a brawl at a youth football game a while back?

2004-03-13 11:58:11 AM
RTFA people. They aren't gonna sell beer during youth games, only at the same arena during adult games. There is no problem here, move along.

2004-03-13 12:05:07 PM
Yeah, I'm not sure what the big deal is here either. Just because it's at a rink where youth games are sometimes played...if they outlawed selling alcohol at all places where children might be at some time, I can't think of many places that would be able to sell booze. And plenty of places can sell beer where there are TONS of kids present (pro sports games come to mind)

2004-03-13 12:15:42 PM
they already sell beer at most hockey games around here. They cut you off during the third period...

I don't see any harm! let the alcohol flow!

My brothers play hockey in Canada every weekend, all the rinks sell beer and there haven't been any problems I've noticed so far

God bless Wisconsin.
