Excuse me, but a group of boars is NOT called a "herd". A grouping of such critters is (for some reason) called a "Sounder".

Do they have fences, etc. to try to keep animals off the autobahn in Germany? We have them in the USA, but as far as I can tell, they don't do a lot of good. I see dead deer by the side of I-70 all the time.

We once hit a rabbit at 180km/h (that's about 115 m/h) and believe it or not it totally wracked the car! The entire bottom was damaged. Good it wasn't my car!

Anyway, I think the story's a hoax. The autobahn near Sinsheim is ALWAYS jammed (ever travelled to lovely Heidelberg on the A6?)!! Blaming it on the innocent pigs is kinda lame!
