How do find out what stations clear channel owns?

2004-02-25 07:37:19 PM
Not suprised and I doubt he was either after the way he has been going off the last two days!

2004-02-25 07:38:22 PM
What was the "incident"? This blows.

2004-02-25 07:39:14 PM
Kelbel go to the link below and do a search under radio

This is big, and this is bad.

2004-02-25 07:44:10 PM
drat. where else can you see naked chix on radio?

2004-02-25 07:44:15 PM
Wow...the headline and tag were both changed, but I still got credit for the submission. Wacky.

Kelbel: How do find out what stations clear channel owns?

All of them.

2004-02-25 07:44:29 PM
Clear Channel can suckle me. I'm no big fan of Stern,.but this is Asinine.

Kelbel : How do find out what stations clear channel owns?

By their call letters. If it begins with a "W" or a "K," it belongs to Clear Channel.

Stern in the mornings, Rush in the afternoons.

What political party does that put me in?

2004-02-25 07:45:20 PM
Gather round all, lets have a fire-side listen with Rick Dees!

2004-02-25 07:46:06 PM
Wow, you can see naked chix on radio?

2004-02-25 07:46:31 PM
What did he say that got him in trouble? I listen most mornings, but missed tuesday. Also, do you think they'll air the show on E!, since its a different medium?

2004-02-25 07:46:46 PM
I'm still good. WYSP rocks. At least that's what my radio tells me.

2004-02-25 07:46:49 PM
Stern in the mornings, Rush in the afternoons.

What political party does that put me in?

Um.. the sexist, massively uninformed one?

I think they're called Republicans.

2004-02-25 07:46:54 PM
Anyone have info on 'the incident' in question?

2004-02-25 07:47:01 PM
There needn't be a decency standard to omit Stern from the radio, simply use a measure of wit: He has none whereas I have a half.

2004-02-25 07:47:01 PM
We need a Retarded tag to supplement Asinine.

2004-02-25 07:47:19 PM
What is this radio you speak of?

2004-02-25 07:47:29 PM
So, what are they going to use in the meantime? I doubt the sound of static is going to produce very big ratings.

Thanks QTPIE

2004-02-25 07:48:07 PM
waynelxidiot: Also, do you think they'll air the show on E!

Probably not. E would make Howard all lovey-dovey, and would disconnect him from his target audience.

2004-02-25 07:48:16 PM
0 tolerance = 0 intelligence

Dammit, for the millionth time, if people are really that put off by what the govt. considers "indecent", they'll vote with their radio dials, their TV remotes, and their $$. Last I heard, Stern's ratings are doing just fine.

2004-02-25 07:48:19 PM
Wow they actually did it. Oh well, this is going to boost Sterns popularity a lot.

2004-02-25 07:48:22 PM
Erm...

I hate Clear Channel and I hate a near-monopoly dictating my radio listening choices...

But I hate Howard Stern and consider him a scourge well-swept from the airwaves...

Hate Stern... Hate CC... Hate Stern... Hate Monopolies... Stern gone good... No choice bad... I'm not programmed to respond in this area...

Bzzzzztttttt

2004-02-25 07:48:23 PM
This really sucks, first I loose O&A and now Howard. Man- like New York doesn't suck bad enough already.

2004-02-25 07:48:24 PM
I wish I was in Tijuana
Eating barbequed iguana
I'd take requests on the telephone
I'm on a wavelength far from home
I feel a hot wind on my shoulder
I dial it in from south of the border
I hear the talking of the DJ
Can't understand just what does he say?

2004-02-25 07:48:32 PM
I used to listen to Howard Stern before his show consisted of five minutes of live promos, two minutes of Stern talking to porn stars and talking about jacking off to them, and then fifteen minutes of commercials before the entire list repeats itself.

Him and Imus, once competing for supremecy, are now competing to see who can hold the most listeners whilst sucking the most.

2004-02-25 07:48:49 PM
I'm seriously glad they got rid of Bubba the Lovesponge. That guy was gross and had been pushing it for years. What did Howard do this time? Yeah he can be crude and offensive = what else has changed in the past 10 years? If he stays yanked I will be surprised. I think some of hisbest stuff is behind him though. Mabye he thinks so too.

E! is cable, so they shouldn't be at all affected by any sort of anti-decency laws, which generally only apply to free broadcast radio and television.

I bet this is the reason they pulled him:

Since the Janet Jackson incident, Stern has been on a tirade about how ridiculous the FCC is. Unelected officials get to determine what people in this country can hear. Plus the obscenity laws are complately vague. you don't know what the rules are until you've broken them.

Clear Channel wants to stay on the good side of the government. they line officials pockets, and they get laws passed that allow them to buy multiple stations in the same market.

Stern's voice is not god for Clear Channel, so they are silencing it.

Fact: the first time Infinity broadcasting was fined for indecency by the FCC (5 Million dollars I believe) was because stern said the following "indecent" thing on the air "lesbians full of lust."

2004-02-25 07:49:59 PM
Here is a list of the stations that carry Howard. Now cross-reference.

/zero-tolerance = zero-brains

Otherwise known as INDEPENDANT THINKERS!

If you like profanity and graphic language, get XM satellite radio. They've got a couple "extreme language" stations that kick Howard Stern's ass.

Heres what I want everyone to do. Find a Clear Channel station in your city, even if they don't carry Howard Stern, and let them know you are boycotting Clear Channel stations for this idiocy.

2004-02-25 07:51:07 PM
Yay! Too bad they'll cave in and let him back on within a couple days, if not hours. It would be nice if I could listen to some music in the morning instead of lame morning shows.

If you live in NY, you won't lose Stern. K-Rock is an infinity (CBS/Viacom)station, not a Clear Channel station.

Lame. He's ready to quit from the sounds of it monday...

Weel, at the next meeting where ratings are discussed, the bonehaed that came up with this little nugget will be looking for new employment...

Shock jock Howard Stern's...

1. Didn't know he was still popular enough to garner any attention;
2. The term "Shock jock" is so 1996.

How do find out what stations clear channel owns?

I think the more appropriate questions is, "Which stations does ClearChannel not own?"

2004-02-25 07:52:40 PM
Lenny_da_Hog:Probably not. E would make Howard all lovey-dovey, and would disconnect him from his target audience.

I meant, since they already videotape the morning show and then play it on E!, do you think they'll play this specific episode.

2004-02-25 07:53:00 PM
no stern lover here either. but lawdy, this clearchannel shiate is ridiculous. anyone know who's on the "fark clear channel" tour?

(it's a real tour. but insert the word that fark represents.)

2004-02-25 07:53:10 PM
Regardless if you like Stern or not, this is a serious step against our choices as citizens.

Why should CC be allowed to decide what I can(t) tolerate as a listener?

/If people don't like what they hear, turn the radio dial to OFF. Leave my choices alone.

Any thread with some Wall of Voodoo is a good thread. Thanks c4mp3r.
