Swell, first "Paul is Dead." Now just a scant 30 years later "George isn't Dead."

Man, Ringo must be turning over in his grave.

That's nothing. You know that next of kin decide what goes on those Death Certificates? If your son commits suicide, you can change the certificate to say it was a car accident, or anything else like that. My girlfriend's grandfather died because her grandma accidentally set her husband on fire. Gross negligence, yes. Anyway, the cause of death was listed as "Complications due to ALS" (that's Lou Gerigh's Disease). Somehow, changing the address so no one can tour your final resting place seems less important...

I don't care.

George Harrison, known in life as the "quiet Beatle," Okay already! does 'quiet Beatle' have anything to do with the story? Why was that in there? Do people not know who he is or which one he is?

The police spokesmans name is Sgt. Pepper

I am so sick of this beatle crap. The shame is that so many great artists perished early on, but these guys just keep on making news.........

2001-12-13 03:13:31 PM
This is so . If the correct address had been put on the cert, there would *still* be a bunch of wacked-out old hippies hanging around out front with candles and incense, blocking traffic and making a nuisance of themselvs with their Ganja and "free love".

Celebs in LA don't even put their real address on their drivers licenses. (California enforced the rules for a while in the '80's, but then Robert Bardo used the license database to track down sitcom chickie Rebecca Schaeffer's address, and shot her outside her home. They've been pretty lax about addresses since then.)

Now, both John and George are quiet Beatles.

Harrison was in a band before his solo stuff?? Weird. Where they any good?

Who the hell cares?

SAVMAN: In my state it is illegal to fudge anything on a death certificate. Too easy to cover something up.

This shiat is old farkin' news! The phony address story was posted on Fark last week (from a Smoking Gun story here. here). Tell those CNN farks to post something that's not a week old--and lifted from another site.

2001-12-13 03:30:46 PM
The police didn't care because they saw the floor needed sweeping.

2001-12-13 03:33:26 PM
Let the guy rest in peace, for gawd's sake. I can see it now... because LAPD is rightfully not interested in the exact place of death, people 20 years from now will still be speculating that he's alive and living on a resort island somewhere. A conspiracy theory is beginning life right in front of our eyes folks.

Wow, Austin, er, tre, I didn't know marshalltown had such militant hippies.

What kind of name is "Bunger" anyway?

2001-12-13 03:38:40 PM
In my band I am also know as the quiet one.
Actually I'm known as the silent but deadly one.

German :)

I was joking, but i don't really care for ignorant stereotyping hippie-haters.

Yawn! Who gives a shiate if the address is fake?
Natural death? Yes. That should be the end of it.

2001-12-13 03:56:08 PM
Hey FartinMartin, what's the name of your band?

2001-12-13 04:00:15 PM
Tre, it was Humor, ok? Some kind of satire, or something. It's what Fark is all about. I remember exactly where I was when I heard the Beatles broke up, just as my father remembered where he was when he heard about kennedy being assasinated.... I was in Riverside Park, wearing sandles and tie-dye, hanging with the other hippy kids... Far from being a hippie-hater, I'm a lifelong fan of The Beatles, and Moby Grape, the MC5, etc. I still like Peter Max!

People are not always what they appear, and on Fark, are pretty much guaranteed to be something other than you think.

2001-12-13 04:06:24 PM
I have recently changed my band name to

Ringo's Next

You'll be able to see us all over southwest FL.
please tip your waitress.

2001-12-13 04:18:44 PM
Wow, I have something in common with the LAPD!

Neither one of us cares about George Harrison!

2001-12-13 04:19:35 PM
Well, i guess it wasn't really a joke, i just wasn't really being serious about it. You like the MC5? (most people don't even know who they are) Thats cool, ramma ramma fa fa fa....hehe. Its just that "making a nuisance of themselvs" comment sounded a lot like the typical anti-hippie farker perspective.

Its kind of strange how those sort of things are just permently instilled in your head. I think one of the bigger "where were you when" sort of things for people my age (21) is the death of Kurt Cobain. I had just arrived home from school, my usual routine of turning on MTV and cursing at all the crap they played. I was making a dried beef sandwhich when i hurt kurt cobain's name, i turned to the tv and all i saw was 1967-1994. I don't remember the person doing the report, nor what they said, all i saw was the date.

I'm not a big fan of the beatles, but i can respect them for what they have done.

2001-12-13 04:21:28 PM
DOH! thats heard not hurt....my my i need a nap.....heard+Kurt = hurt

2001-12-13 04:26:46 PM
If it was not for the MC5, there would be no Ramones...

2001-12-13 04:33:07 PM
Tre_bumpn: what's dried beef? And who are (is) MC5? Are they any good? (Forgive me, I'm from Nebraska).

2001-12-13 04:34:28 PM
i don't care where he died or where he's buried. I really don't like the beatles either, but they should let this guy rest in peace!

2001-12-13 04:35:52 PM
MC5 - best known for the song "Kick out the jams" with the amazing cover by Blue Oyster Cult. If I recall correctly, they were also the house band for the Black Panthers.

2001-12-13 04:37:12 PM
Holy crap! Harrison Ford died?! What's going to happen to Indiana Jones and the Submerged City of the Gunguns?

2001-12-13 04:49:04 PM

"Kick out the jams" is one of the most covered songs in rock and roll. Also covered by:

Presidents of the United States of America

Bad Brains (with Henry Rollins)

Jeff Buckley

Julian Cope

Soundgarden

B.O.C.

Silverchair (farking who?)

Primal Scream

Rage Against the Machine

And about a million crap bands on MP3.com.

2001-12-13 05:31:35 PM
Good for George.

2001-12-13 05:32:37 PM
Yes, they were sort of the house band of the black panthers. They have a fairly new "best of" cd i would recommend picking up. They influenced a lot of bands, and were complete opposites of most bands during their time.

You've never had dried beef? Oh man, its like roast beef....uhhh only its dried. Its so good, usually i don't bother with a sandwhich i just eat it right out of the package.

2001-12-13 05:54:41 PM
Cobain sucks.

2001-12-13 05:57:21 PM
so does the soup.
