PUNCH OUT JOKE!

Classic.

2004-02-23 03:14:29 PM
Not like it's hard. Left, right, left, right, left, right, to the face, ad nauseam.

What most people didn't know was that the same thing would work on Von Kaiser, only with body blows.

Anyone who didn't have to stop and think about the headline for at least five seconds before "getting it", and I include myself in this group, needs to hang their heads in shame.

Losers.

`We can make a good-looking ring out of this,'

Being a glass eye, I highly doubt it "looks" as good as a real eye would.

If you enter in a code, there is another way to beat King Hippo. When the right code is entered, Little Mac turns into a cheeseburger and jumps around the ring. King Hippo gets so happy about eating said burger, he becomes a pacifist and forfeits the fight. It won't work if you turn into a ham. King Hippo cares not for unclean pig meat.

This game, Tetris, Baseball Stars and Dr. Mario almost cost me my college degree.

Mariocart and Street Fighter did manage to knock me out of grad school.

Great Tiger

At the beginning when you fight Great Tiger, watch for the light on his head to flash. The second it does, punch him in the face. (You will get a star.) Then quickly super punch him, and repeat until the ligh doesn't flash anymore. When it won't flash anymore, when he ducks down to punch you, stomach punch him. You will keep getting stars. When you have three, use them. And keep repeating until he is down.

King Hippo
Dodge Hippo's normal punches. As soon he starts jumping up and down and grunting, hit him in the face once, then start punching his belly. Keep doing this until

Does anybody remember the code to get to mike tyson? all i can remeber is up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B,A,B,A, Select, Start, (for 2 players of course).

I found a box with all of my old school nintendo games in it. I can't find my wires to hook up the system which sucks.

Does anybody know why nintendo has not re-released a new version of the old NES that would play the old games, one that actually works, and maybe even some re-releases of some classic games? i know i would buy one.
/off to check for job at nintendo..

May I be the first to say, WTF?

Where did you get this "goth kiddies" crap, and furthermore, how exactly do you relate this type of jewelry to someone being babied as a child? "Stupid and ugly" is a matter of opinion, and while you're free to have yours, "stupid and ugly" is not what this article is about at all. If you would take the time to read it before you comment on it then you would know that. So take a chill pill and don't be so judgmental.

Sorry, Atario - Survey SAYS......not as good as the headline that actually made it through.

2004-02-23 07:23:37 PM kapoho -
Baseball stars is one of my favorite games, most kids had RBI baseball, but SNK Baseball stars, with the american dreams, best baseball game by far.
I have about 75 NES games, and every night i wish i had a way to play them, anyone perhaps have an extra system laying around, if so i call dibs..

I am such a failure at that game; I couldn't even beat Glass Joe... but I bet I could whoop all your asses in RBI Baseball, heh.

"Does anybody know why nintendo has not re-released a new version of the old NES that would play the old games, one that actually works, and maybe even some re-releases of some classic games? i know i would buy one. "

I know nintendo rereleased the NES in a new shell several years ago, but it's the same internal hardware. I wouldn't be surprised if it, like the original, has problems loading some games... it's just a result of the cartridge-based system.

As far as rereleasing the old games go... check out Animal Crossing for the gamecube, for one example. You live in the town, and sometimes the creatures in the town will give you an old (playable) classic NES game as a present. Supposedly, there are 15+ NES games in it.

Also, with several games (Metroid Prime, Prince of Persia: SOT, etc), the originals are included. But, IMO, reminiscing is pointless, since I spent enough time playing the originals to begin with.

TheBookPolice-
yes... you rock.
that is now my new favorite site. hey do you know if the sell the actual system?

One of my high school buddies and I decided we missed our old school NES game collection so we decided to gather as many as we could, between funcoland, raiding our other friends houses, and finding our own in the attic and tag sales or where ever. We ended up with a pretty sick collection i think total we ended up with a little over 200 games, after he went away to school i ended up keeping around 75 for me. but needless to say to get them to work in my nintendo you need to try every trick in the book, blowing in the game, sticking 2 games in, pounding the crap out of it. pretty much treat it like you would your girlfriend.

2004-02-23 07:45:48 PM
Cripes, kurt-roges... Glass Joe scarcely fights back at all. I've never played RBI 1, but I've literally played hundreds of games of RBI 3. I spent many a summer playing complete season after complete season of that game until I made myself physically sick. Yikes. That game seriously rocked though. Always take the AL all-stars. Nobody could hit off Dennis Eckersley.
I played the hell out of Punchout freshman year of college until I could survive the 3 rounds against Tyson, but I always lost the decision.

RBI Baseball was okay. I always played the Minnesota Twins and brought the heat with Bedrock Bedrosian.. but RBI couldn't hold Baseball Stars jock.

Creating your own players and then having the data updated was awesome. The only thing it was missing was a salary cap. I mean, who didn't have a whole team full of $ 1,000,000 players after a while?

My team of millionaires used to kick the crap out of the American Dreams ... even Babe.

2004-02-23 07:47:33 PM
Actually when Nintendo re-released the hardware in the "top-loader" version that pretty much eliminated problems getting the games to stop blinking. Last time I checked those top loading NES units were fairly costly on EBay.

I think that'd be great. Activision and Midway have already released their old games for PS2, and Nintendo doing that would be just as cool.

I just hooked up my "entertainment center" in my new house - NES, SNES, PS2, GC, and the Atari is next week. And surround sound for systems that support it.

Lane Meyer, I don't think so. But you can get them on Amazon's Used and New private seller area.

We called it "video game diving," in honor of the dumpster diving it so closely resembles. St. Vinnie's, pawn shops, Funcoland, garage sales. Anywhere to find Bible Adventures, in the blue game shell.

My late father was head of the restorations clinic of the Veterans Administration in L.A. He made fake eyes and other facial prosthetics. He left behind a bunch of unusable eyes. We seemed to find some in every drawer when cleaning out the house. If there's a demand, (it's Fark, who knows?) I will take some photos and post them.

In my youth, I played some cool tricks on people with those eyes. Good times.

To those of you who would like to play your old nintendo games: Irecommend going here. Buying another old nintendo is a temporary solution. Eventually, the connectors all will fail. Here is a NEW, Improved connector that will fit your system. All you have to have is a phillips screwdriver, and the guts to open the damn thing up. I just bought one, so I'll soon find out how well it works.

And to those mentioning the toploader, lavender NES system, it's stripped down a bit. No A/V ports, just R/F. Kind of a pain for those of us like myself and safeinsane and others who have worked to integrate old machines into new entertainment setups. Stick with The Brick.

2004-02-23 07:57:31 PM
My bad, not lavender. That's the SNES.
