Couldn't find any volunteers for the suicide mission, I guess.
2001-12-13 11:02:20 AM
so, if one of the bombers hits himself, the other one feels it?

Ban toy cars, toy car detectors at airports!

Children's amusement is a small price to pay for saving lives.

Wasn't that done in a movie??? copy cats freaks, get an original idea. And next time use a bigger bomb, the guard was treated for shock, probably at the site of a Cyclops coming at him covered with duct tape a

Yeah Burber, one of the coolest car chase scenes in a movie, and the only good part of Dead Pool!
2001-12-13 11:31:01 AM
Aww, come on, Austinmodernist !!!

Jim Carrey was in that? God it has been a long time! Obviusly the car scene is the only thing I remember and Slash from GnR.
2001-12-13 11:54:49 AM
He played the rock star at the beginning....

Great Name btw!
[Old enough to know the reference??]

You could do this in Grand Theft Auto.

They must have been pretty close because how else would they be able to see where to drive this thing.
2001-12-13 12:08:17 PM
So they saw Tremors 2 too?
2001-12-13 12:13:14 PM
Yeah...I guess I need to start looking for those "Toyz" vans parked around town...
2001-12-13 12:15:05 PM

An 'interesting' tag? Can anyone say NIMBY

Not In My Back Yard

If these were Muslims directing explosives towards a New York police station (or in my case the I.R.A. doing so towards an English police station) would this article spark a debate about Jim Carrey playing a heroin-addicted rock star?

It's all in your 'frame of reference'.

When this story came up, the first thing I thought of was that movie.
I, thankfully, don't have to dodge Radio-Controlled bombs in the streets on a daily basis. I'm sorry that you DO have those kind of things to worry about.
I'm not unsympathetic to your situation, just don't have that 'frame of reference' as a first thought.

Disco Stu:
Simmer down, it just brings back a image from a bad movie, no offense to the actual dire situation at hand!
2001-12-13 02:00:39 PM
Actually, the whole G-n-R band is present at the funeral scene in "The Dead Pool".
2001-12-13 02:19:19 PM
I'm sorry, 'The Dead Pool' occurred to me too. It's just that, two months ago t.v. shows were being cancelled and movies shelved if they did so much as mention the word; 'bomb'. The 'interesting' tag is usually used as a kind of catch-all for articles that aren't really one thing or another. My Boobies was a knee-jerk reaction to what I thought were flippant comments relating to something which referred to people trying to blow up policemen, a phenomenon which I thought would still be a sore point for some people. By the way I only used the I.R.A as an example, all they've ever done to me is cause a few streets to be cordoned off that I wanted to shop in

There was some Dirty Harry movie on last night on TNT with a remote controlled car.

I turned it on and it was Clint Eastwood and some dude getting chased by a remote controlled 70's fastback-style the end it catches up to Clint's car and blows the front end of it up and injuring his partner..

This Dead Pool?

Also seen in Batman: The Animated Series. Episode, The Gray Ghost. The episode about the pulp-style here, the Gray Ghost, the actor who played him (voiced by Adam West no less), and his impact on Bruce Wayne/Batman.
