Blood alcohol level of 0.40 percent!!!

Hot damn! It's a good thing this kid didn't get near an open flame, otherwise more people would have died.

Landmark case here.....A judge finally finds the REAL reponsible party.

Of course, now the parents will attempt to sue the guy who supplied the stuff, the fraternity, the college, the hospital who failed to save his life, the cops who failed to stop this crime, the makers of the vodka, the shipping company that delivered the vodka, the company that made the glass bottle that held the vodka, and President George Bush because his daughters were alcoholic role models to their dear departed son.

And I hope the same judge gets all these cases. Sorry folks you get no money because your kid like all kids was stupid.

This is not an anti-alcohol add nor. I'm simply saying that for once the responsible party has been held liable.

LOL! I have a habit of never posting something w/o it being stamped
via PGP. I use PGP everyday on just about everything. E-mails,
newsgroups, etc.

Dear TeenFX,

I fear my best friend is something of a drunk. He died of acute alcohol poisoning the other night, with a BAC of .40.
What can I do to help without sounding preachy?

Sincerely,
Concerned, but not overly so....

Ack! My posting somehow got screwed...here it is again.

Unfortunantly, in this case, if the Prosecuter fails to have the
supplier convicted of giving the kid another bottle of booze. The
parents may sue the college for failing to make sure all booze stays
off campus. But even if they did, the kids would just party
elsewhere, maybe like a Rave party, some abandoned building off
campus where they can string up the place with chicken wire and get
some DJ to set up the music and find a over 21 adult to supply the
booze, etc.

Then something bad happens and the parents could sue the people who
started the Rave party, especially whoever bought the booze. If that
fails, the parents could try and sue the city for failing to get the
law enforcement officers to crack down on Rave parties all over the
city, but their defense would be that the cops have better things to
do, that is to stop robbers and gun-toting maniacs from shooting
people on the streets, etc.

Lawsuits is a never ending cycle.

I for one don't believe anyone should profit off their love ones for
anything bad happens to anyone.

I do think if a party of one or more that is found responsible for
the death of a love one should pay for the funeral expenses. I think
Congress should pass a bill forcing those responsible for taking a
life pay for medical and funeral expenses.

They may or may not see the money, but given the odds there, some may get rembursed for paying the medical and funeral expenses for something that should have never happened in the first place. Why should the parents pay for someone else's mistakes?

I am surprised nobody mentioned Darwin yet.

The absolute first thing I noticed about this story was the link to the "That's Racin'" section at the top of the page. Experts are not yet sure if this had any causal relationship to the incident.

What a way to go.

2001-12-13 07:56:10 AM
People at my school are always paranoid of getting sued like this. Fortunately no one has died so far, merely had to go to the hospital and stuff - families only sue for dead relatives, not for stupid relatives. It's weird how dying legitamizes oneself in a weird way - like Henry James' last words when he only thought he was about to die.

But now the truth is clear to all college students - make sure you have plenty of video evidence to show how everyone is saying "Dude, stop drinking!" only to be ignored. Then you'll get off without doing time.

Yizuman:
So why is it that everything you write must be stamped via PGP??
Are you the kind of person who also wear a tinfoil hat so that the Echelon (or the Greys) won't read your mind?

2001-12-13 08:13:34 AM
He should've said "Duuude, take a toke/hit on this bong/bowl/spliff" and got him righteously stoned. Then he would've just fallen asleep...

And then all you gotta do is make sure he doesn't choke on vomit...

Is this really nessecary? I mean really, this isn't Usenet. I can just see 50% of the post space taken up by unnessecary PGP signatures.

Oh yeah, kid was a moron, got what he deserved, blah, blah, blah.

If you can't drink yourself to death and then blame other people for it, then Fb has already won the father's boobies.

Time for a new filter. Nothing here is that important. I mean, how many people checked to see if the signature was authentic.
Probably a person born of "high bandwidth" and possibly post web.
Very few observe the old Internet Etiquette forms of small .sig lines to minimize bandwidth waste. Good thing he is on FARK and not the old Usenet. :^)

I had something to say but I think the bigger idiot here is Yizuman Too bad he didn't drink himself to death so we didn't have to put up with that crap. It does do one thing, let you know to ignore his posts.

How 'bout this one:
Sentence him to life in prison!

I have to agree with Meepmeep, that trick worked on many folks back in college who were trying to drink themselves silly after loss of a girlfriend or flunking, etc. I wonder if anyone died at the party just from smoking?
;>

Never heard of anyone O.D.ing on pot.
Alcohol kills though, that is a fact, in more ways than imaginable.

I hope he gets life.

BAC of 0.40?! Fark, that kid didn't have enough blood in his alcohol stream. No wonder he died.

As long as they don't burn the kid at the stake, it doesn't matter to me what they do with him. Burning him at the stake could turn him into a blowtorch.

2001-12-14 12:19:34 AM
they should bring the corpse out so i can kick it
