It's rather a bit taller than a Roomba and a Neato isn't it?

And I wonder how much market success they will have knowing Dyson's usual markup on their products

/Come, get a fan that costs as much as a portable AC unit!

I bought the Dyson ball vacuum. It's not what I thought it was.

Going to have put all of my beds on stilts and probably take out a second morgage for that

Is the cat-shark on top optional or standard?

I bet after you buy, it will just gather dust.

I went to the Vagina Monologues but I was very disappointed. Not one single taking vagina.

It could be ten times better than my Roomba was and would still be a POS.

It's going to play football in Dallas?

The Roomba isn't really a vacuum, more a sweeper with a dust buster attached. The Dyson looks like it is a proper vacuum cleaner, hence being bigger. Also they say it properly maps and navigates the room whereas the Roomba just randomly wanders round until it thinks it has probably covered everywhere.

Looks like a Roomba with another Roomba on top. I guess this is for people who want to make sure the carpet under their bed, sofa, etc. never gets cleaned.

The Neato maps the room (Using LIDAR) and has a fairly powerful vacuum in it, as well as a proper beater bar, and it's no taller than a Roomba. I'd rather have a Neato over this thing, as at least it could go under my couch

/Currently have a Roomba, and as I have no carpet, it does a pretty good job

If it will clean the (hardwood) floor under our bed (King size sleigh bed, weighs a ton) I'd buy one in a heartbeat...but I almost certainly won't be able to justify the price.  Dyson stuff is the spensive ($300 for a fan, really?)

I have a ball.

I have a newer Neato, and I love the fricking thing. I never have to vacuum. I go to work, it vacuums while I'm gone. I come home to clean floors. I now want a robot that will clean my bathroom and kitchen. Bring on the robot servants!

Cautiously interested. I got a Dyson with a BB&B coupon about 12 years ago. Thing still runs, looks, and smells like new, and is the best vac I've owned.

I might go for this. It would be even more awesome if someone cracked it so I could decompile the code and fix what I don't like. That said, there will probably be a Linux distro for it about 2 weeks after launch.

My experience with Dysons (2 different DC14s) is that they work great when they are brand new but as soon as they get even a little worn they suck. Too many crappy gaskets that dry out for one, the clutches are crap for two, the brushes suck and the belts wear out constantly for three and four. A proper Kirby works about 1000 times better and even the fairly old Miele canister my MIL gifted us when she moved kicks the Dysons ass up and down.

You need a model that can switch from suck to blow.

The best thing about Skeets is that he gets under couches and beds, two places I would vacuum once every 5 years if I had to do it myself.
