Because the alcohol has a release jet in the nipple?

And doctors have said that the occasional drink is not going to harm your child. I mean, it sounds like THIS lady at first:
3.bp.blogspot.com

But there's really no context, how much has she drank before? Was this her only time to have a drink while pregnant or while the baby was still breastfeeding?

So yeah, fark these social media assbags.

A little bit of beer can help with let down. And the safest time to have a shot would be immediately after finishing a feeding, so it has time to clear your system before the next feeding.

She sounds kinda like a jerk, though.

I think it was my wife's OB who told us that with the nursing baby, if you need to have a drink, the best time is actually right before you breastfeed (I guess during would be the same). I mean there is no way the alcohol could get absorbed into your system before the baby is finished drinking. And then you have the longest possible amount of time for your body to process the alcohol before it is time to feed again.

Stupid phone
On the one hand, a little alcohol is not going to kill your baby. On the other, she obviously has poor impulse control, so should probably not be habitually drinking as a parent. Not enough info to judge (rats!)

Hell yeah.  If the husband was breastfeeding, I'd kick them out too!

2014-09-04 09:29:39 AM
I've heard some women say that drinking while breastfeeding, in the immediate sense, is OK.  It takes a couple of hours for booze to clear your system but, the reasoning goes, if you have a beer or glass of wine during nursing your breast milk will not absorb any of the alcohol by the time the feeding is done.  Apparently they got this information from their "new parent" classes at the hospital.

Actually, the best time to drink is while you're breastfeeding, as the alcohol won't really have entered your bloodstream by the time the baby finishes drinking, and it gives an extra 15-20 minutes for it to clear off before the next feeding. (Of course, it depends of how long and how frequently the baby drinks).

Social media dorks need to mind their own farking business.  If all that was so bad for babies "before social media" how did the world ever become so over-populated?

Society really doesn't give a flip about breastfeeding in public these days.
This fact enrages some breastfeeding advocates.

My wife likes to drink but also likes to get pregnant. And since formula is for people who are lazy and don't know any better, she breastfed our son. Long story short: we bought alcohol test strips to test her breast milk to see if it is ok for baby. Most of the time it was.

With one of my stepsons, the Pediatrician told my wife that the occasional beer could fortify the breast milk, as hops is a natural preservative. No word on if this is true or not, but none of them will tell you that it is going to absorb instantly or that an occasional drink is going to ruin the kid for life.

Hmm. . .I have been to this restaurant (Virginia has no true bars).  It is not a dive though it is not upscale either.  The clientele are your everyday average people trying to have a good time.  Well, average people and white trash.  That said, she may find more people to hate her than support her if she tried.

I need to find out when she does this.  I do not frequent that establishment so getting kicked out for being an idiot might be fun.

It's private property. If they don't like you drinking and breast feeding at the same time, tough.

As you comment on a story where a woman got kicked out of somewhere for breastfeeding, and even a cursory glance of TFA would show that some of the outrage on FB is over her getting kicked out for breastfeeding.

Big Woody's is the sort of name you'd expect on a place that respects your baby -and- your tits.

She was only there getting drunk because she got kicked out of the Wet Poles joint down the street for having a poor body self-image.

They're all stupid, but I'll side with the dumb mom only because conservative legislators are becoming increasingly meddling into the affairs of breastfeeding and pregnant mothers. If only to push their pro life agenda.

People are really stupid. As if booze just magically transports itself into the stored milk.

FYI to those who don't know. Breast milk alcohol levels operate the same way as your blood does. As your BAC increases, so does your milk's AC. For a breastfeeding mom the BEST time to have that drink is while the baby is nursing because BAC is currently zero and by the time the baby needs to nurse again it is likely to be back to zero.

/two kids and wife likes to drink

I hope the court orders her a ban on all social media for 1 year.

Stop complaining, be a mom and raise your snowflake right so it'll turn out being a better person than the parents.
