Giuliani was an asshole who wanted all diversity and interesting people/places in NYC removed and most of us who lived there hated the guy. And then 09/12/2001 - because he didn't run through the streets as if someone set his head on fire - everyone acted like he did something amazing when the World Trade Center was destroyed.  He didn't. He acted like a mayor should, like any mayor would have. Big deal. He held it together and made some inspirational speeches. Big deal.

Seriously, ask someone from New York. Almost nobody liked the guy at all 09/09/2001.  And then, he was suddenly a hero for nothing but a few speeches and not hiding away (any more than anyone else was.)   Why do you think he was Mr. 9/11 when running for higher office? Because that day raised his profile and likeability in general in a way he never otherwise could have or would have.

Holy crap, Townhall praising Clinton.

The point of view represented today by Townhall and others like it, was 20 years ago was about as anti-Clinton as you could get. Vincent Foster! NAFTA! Coward-in-Chief! Hilarycare! Take Back America!

FOX News was just getting going, this point of view was already prevalent all over right wing radio, and there was literally zero praise for this president from that side of the aisle.

So they're a bit disingenuous now suddenly wishing they had Clinton then. They did not. Far from it.

Those didn't really cost a company money.  When they actually banned user keys, some people just went out and bought a new copy of the game.

Once a bot costs them money (in this case whoever pays Fark's ad revenue), they actually tend to crack down on it.

Hell, WoW bots made Blizzard money because they were active accounts, and once they went to paid 90s, filthy lucre came a rollin in from all those people running bots and people not wanting to do the grind alike.

Yup, and we will see it with Obama too after we are a few years out from his presidency and the controversies fade. Then, the current Democrat president and anointed as the libbiest lib who ever libbed, and Obama will be held up as the good old days of a Democrat who new how to govern properly.

I was a bit off; 40% of traffic is non-human, which doesn't necessarily translate into 40% of ad revenue being bots.

The irony is this is about conservatives projecting their own negative character flaws onto President Obama, in order to have something to criticize President Obama for. This is due to them not being able to express their real reason for disliking President Obama, because expressing those real reasons would be political suicide.

Of course they rationalize it by claiming to be experts on human nature who understand why everybody does everything they do. Of course this is not true, they just assume everyone is as mean and intolerant as they are and then use it as an excuse to treat other people like crap. Hence their 'angry black man who hates whitey' caricature of President Obama.

The funniest part is that the GOP is so void of empathetic moderate figures, they have to resort to claiming a pandering asshat like Rudy Giuliani in order to have a Republican example.

TFA is just another weak rehash of the "Obama's an out of touch elitist/arrogant" thing they've had going since before he took office.  They're running out of ways to rephrase their proxy criticisms.
