Every time you engage in a medical intervention there's a slight risk. Considering how many she's been through something was about due.

I have a feeling she's not really going to "recover." But modern medicine can do some amazing things anymore.

Just being honest...
She's past 80 and can only insult people, calling it comedy.
And she doesn't even insult funny anymore, like she did way back when Liz Taylor was her favorite target.
She goes after babies and terror victims and whatever...not funny at all, just trolling for attention.
So...no...I hope she doesn't recover...not if I have to read/hear more about her being senselessly cruel to people.
If she can recover and go away...go be 80+ elsewhere...then sure, I wish her a speedy recovery.
But otherwise, yes...time to die...all 80+ people...it's just the way life goes.

Let her go, fanbois.

I disagree.

I think she needs to recover....after a good solid Dick Clark style stroke of course.

All the networks will be so glad she's made it and still alive and so strong....and the best part will be seeing her barely capable corpse propped up while she slurs and stutters her way through those insults, just happy to still be a celebrity on TV and being paid attention to.

It will be in that final act that we and she realize what it is she has become.

I think they a need a second opinion about bringing her out of the induced coma.

I'm old enough to remember her on Carson. She was never funny.

Not fit to scrape Phyllis Diller's corns.

I think it's wrong to wish long and painful deaths on anyone. We all get to die alone; bad people, good people--we all get to share this. So I hope that everyone who dies goes out quickly and peacefully. It's the least I can do as a member of the human race. I"m not one of those sick farkers who wishes that murderers suffer more than anyone else, or that horrible people be tortured before they go out. They're dead, what the hell more do you want? I question what kind of a person you are yourself if you think like this. I have every one of you farkers marked too. I hope you die in your sleep.

^this.  My great-grandmother would have been better off not surviving her heart attack in her late 80s.

I have to say I did gain a lot of respect for her again after she appeared as herself in a hilarious episode of Louie.

She could improve every single headline submitted to Fark in the past ten years, haters! You all should worship this woman for her Bieber jokes at the very least.

Pretty sure she would have retired "your dog wants ...." After the first usage.

She has her good moments, she has her bad.

But one thing I do know, she'll keep going until she can't.
The women is a machine.
And she won't care if she's a machine to do it.

Can she talk?   God, I hope not.  When Joan Rivers says, "Can we talk?"  she means, "SHUT UP AND
LISTEN, YOU JACKASS!"

News now reporting she is out of ICU...

http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2014/09/03/joan-rivers-daughter-mother-h as -been-moved-out-of-intensive-care/

This could be good or could be bad......

FTFA: Melissa Rivers said in a statement on Wednesday that "my mother has been moved out of intensive care and into a private room where she is being kept comfortable.

Hmm, "being kept comfotable" not "recovering" sounds like Hospice to me, probably not good.

You'll know she back to her old self with the first tirade against the palestinians.

The big difference between Joan Rivers and the people who want to wish her harm (besides her graduating Phi Beta Kappa and being worth a fortune) is that you nasty little overripe sphincters mean it and she doesn't. Pretty much everyone who knows/has met her disagrees with your third-hand assessment.

If she is so reprehensible because she is mean, why are you willing to get down in the gutter with her? At least she gets a paycheck out of it. All you get is a sticky sock.

This is basically the move they do when the decision's been made to let nature take its course; intensive care is for people they are still actively trying to save.

/went through this with my mom

This.

Seen it twice in a year with the wife's parents. They'll get her morph'd up real good to ease her out of her discomfort. If/when Joan goes, she won't feel a thing.

Is this a saying? 'But X can Y anymore'?  I feel like I've heard someone else use it, but from a grammar perspective I have no farking clue what it means.

Does it mean 'now'? Or 'now adays'? Or something similar?

What, for reals? My mother used to say that. Yes, it means nowadays. Or

The adverb anymore meaning "any longer" or "nowadays" is most commonly spelled as one word. It is used in negative constructions and in some types of questions: Sally doesn't work here anymore. Do you play tennis anymore? In some dialects, chiefly South Midland in origin, it is found in positive statements meaning "nowadays": Baker's bread is all we eat anymore. Anymore we always take the bus .Its use at the beginning of a sentence is almost exclusive to speech or to representations of speech.

Except for when she said all the Palestinians should die... She meant that. That's not good nature ribbing. That's hate.

She's a old woman who doesn't know how or when to just be quiet.

Funny'd.

Meh, 80+ is a good kick at the cat and I hope she either recovers or goes quickly and without a lot of pain or indignity.

Also, really no love for that headline? Wow, tough room. Plus one, Subby. I LOL'd anyways.

Eh, I just haven't seen it used in this way. It's different somehow than all the examples.
