One foot two, eyes of blue,
But oh! what that one foot could do,
Has anybody seen my linebacker?

2014-09-02 12:23:06 PM
He's still taller than Danny Woodhead.

2014-09-02 12:39:01 PM
If he's as fast as the regular-sized football player, I'd say that it's an advantage.

Lando Lincoln: If he's as fast as the regular-sized football player, I'd say that it's an advantage.

I can't imagine how fast a 1' 2" 245lb guy could possibly be.  But he had impressive vertical on the high five in the video.

Doesn't this happen like every year?

No.

Yep, or something like it. Basically these humorous 'bugs' are put in to generate talk about the game without the costs associated with advertising.

...also, Kirksey's in Cleveland, not Tennessee.

Meh, still not better than the Aaron Brooks backward pass - at least this glitch doesn't fark you over on gameplay.

Bill Swerski: Now, gentlemen, let me ask you this: What if Da Bears were all 14 inches tall, you know, about so high? Now, what's your score of today's game?

Carl Wollarski: Against Da Giants?

Bill Swerski: Yes, give 'em a handicap.

Carl Wollarski: Bears 18, Giants 10. And that would finally be a good game.

Pat Arnold: Yeah, it would be a good game. Mini Bears 24, Giants 14.

Todd O'Conner: What about Ditka? Would he be mini, too?

Bill Swerski: No, he would be full-grown.

Todd O'Conner: Oh, then, uh.. Mini Bears 31, Giants 7.

Carl Wollarski: Oh, hold on. Then I change mine, too. I thought it was Mini Ditka.

Obvi!

Whatever.

It's still not as good as Chara checking Crosby into low Earth orbit in NHL 13.

I love how EA owned that bug.

Good, I know they can do it. Now get me 1'2" bodies and big head mode like in NBA Jam. Although it wouldn't be as cool with the helmets.

Is madden any good on the PS3 or go get a PS4?

It doesn't matter what system you are using, Madden isn't any good on any of them.

I get that they have to pay player royalties, but how long do you think it'll be before EA goes to regional Madden covers like SI does sometimes? I'm only going to buy this year's because every time the Seahawks make the Super Bowl and/or they have someone on the cover, I will buy Madden.

/once every 8 years or so seems like enough

Ultimate team mode, players are basically pokemon cards and you build a deck with them.

it's not a glitch, he didn't make tackles - just like real titans defenders

I was wondering what the football looked like. Does it stay full size, or does the glitch shrink it, too? Either one would actually be hilarious.

Because Madden is such a poorly known game they need all of the gimmicks they can get, right?

To be fair, they've actively taken a hatchet to most things which were done right in the PS2 versions.

Just from memory and I can't find it but it seems like there was the same glitch but with a lineman years ago in a Madden game.

The front end stuff, to a point, yes. Can;t resign guys during the year is the most glaring thing. I know Madden 25's owner mode let you start fiddling with soda and hot dog prices and such again... like 10 years after they first did it. I get it.

On the field though? I simply disagree with your opinion. Even the year of goofy collision physicis was damn good.

Thinking like a programmer - which I'm not, but I took some classes in college - I think what's going on in both of these scenarios has to do with the new collision engine they've implemented in the past few years.  It's designed to make every collision different based on application of "forces" (i.e. "weight," position and speed of polygons versus each other).

What I can see happening is the calculation of the hit physics happening a processor cycle or two too late, such that (for example) instead of calculating the force of the hit when my fist hits your face, the force of the hit is instead calculated as if my fist is already five inches inside your nose and got there instantly.  Instant power punch!

As a result, instead of just pushing a guy back, that rapid acceleration of mass exerts a huge force on the guy ... enough to knock a defensive lineman into the roof of the Edward Jones Dome and 30 yards downfield, or enough to send Sidney Crosby into the seventh row.

Theoretically, that's not really violating the laws of physics ... of human ability, yes, but of physics, no ... so part of me kind of thinks this is cool.  Imagine a game where you could actually do this.  Kinda sweet.

Came here to say this also...all I remember is the screen cap they had of the glitch player tackling a regular sized player...now that was funny!
