An Islamic militant group said Sunday it has "secured" a U.S. Embassy compound in Libya's capital city of Tripoli.
American personnel evacuated the area roughly a month ago amid ongoing fighting in the country.

So.. they captured a vacant building.. the horror

I don't think this will help ISIS expedite their visas.  They should be crossing the Mexican border like every other terrorist.

More like "Fox Cold Pee"

Really, you shouldn't click on Murdoch links. All you're doing is giving whatever stupid petty bullshiat they're trying to foment some vestige of credibility.

Whatever this is, it's not a scandal, it's another attempt to keep bigotry, hatred and classicism alive in this society.

Really, shame on you for continuing to click on this shiat, full knowing what it is and what it represents.

the YouTube video in which the militia members are diving from a roof into pool was taken at the CIA annex in Tripoli

Well it ain't Saddam's palace but when you've "captured" an (evacuated, unguarded) American installation you work with what you've got.

FTFA: Windows at the compound had been broken, but it appeared most of the equipment there remained untouched.

I'm not concerned about the space or personnel in particular, what with having been abandoned for over a month now but I do wonder about the state of the computers and other paraphernalia--whether sensitive or classified information is on any computers/file cabinets/abacuses there. I don't know if there is a swift self-destruction protocol for those kinds of situations. I would also suppose those of us without security clearances would not be privy to the existence of such protocols anyway.

You forgot to mention how it's Obama's fault, and that it wouldn't have happened if he hadn't chosen such a lawless course of action.

There certainly are protocols for destroying sensitive material. And you can be pretty certain that the staff in Lybia were well trained to do so while under fire. It is highly unlikely that anything significant was left behind during a calm and orderly evacuation without any imminent threat.

The CIA and State Department don't f*** around with things like information security. If there is still a hard drive in that building in one piece (which I highly doubt--they either destroy them or evacuate them), it has nothing but My Little Pony pictures on it. File cabinets and safes are, again, either evacuated or destroyed as well. I vaguely remember reading some years ago about how some CIA installations use thermite to destroy file cabinets and their contents in one fell swoop.

biatchin', right?

That they reported it AT ALL means they want everyone to think it. They wanted everyone to instantly have visceral feelings of Benghazi and Tehran; embassies overrun by screaming Muslim radicals waving scimitars and AK-47's, blindfolded hostages and dead Ambassadors, humiliation and disgrace for the Great Satan.

They DON'T want anyone thinking "Meh, just an empty building we evacuated over a month ago that was probably already pillaged and ransacked by looters and is no more than an empty shell." Otherwise, why report it at all?

I have seen this show, pretty sure it was called we give mega guns to people that hate use, staring George bush, Donald Rumsfeld and Dick chainy and other war criminals.

So I don't know field of glass from orbit is the only way to be sure.

Sure, we're calling it a "pool" now, but in reality that's where the CIA kept their only stockpile of pure rain water. Now that brown people have corrupted it, there will be no way for the CIA to replenish their precious bodily fluids.

I don't think its skinink who needs the antipsychotics.
