The most shocking part of that video was the "I'm [name], for the Weather Channel."

Since when did the Weather Channel start doing feel-good videos about cute animals?

Tame lions are awesome.  The males are still terrifying, though, no matter how tame they are.

A cat's ability to terrify (or cause terrible harm) is in direct proportion to its size.

/pets our cat whom we sometimes call "Tikky Attacks!"

When I was a kid, I had a petite tortoiseshell whose original owners had called her Killer. Her ability to terrify and inflict harm was entirely out of proportion to her size. She was like a four-legged piranha.

/I miss that cat

Yeah, for those not in the know, TWC and its website have gone the TLC route, they are now pure junk.  A couple years away from running Real Housewives of Tornado Alley.  OK so I liked the video, but that "announcer" or whatever term they use to describe him...that is one punchable smirkface.

That's weird; I have the most petite of all torties and she's a shrinking violet.  Although she's never had any problem with killing the occasional mouse.  But she's terrified of all other cats, and she only bites me on the nose because I've carefully trained her too (and she knows it's pretend-bites only).  Otherwise she's as gentle as a lamb.

Every other tortie I've ever known also has been very fearful of all strangers, shunning any contact.

A friend of mine had a cat (now sadly gone, victim to cancer) that was a savage.  He'd drag home half of a rabbit carcase.  I always told this guy, one day you're going to find a pair of moose antlers on your porch.  But just the nicest cat to me.

I used to have a small tortie that was utterly fearless. I looked out the window one day and she was stalking a white-tail deer. Mind you, this cat was maybe 7 ibs tops. I guess she thought she could maybe bite through the achilles tendon or something....

/The deer got nervous and fled
