Did they make him drop thirty pounds to get the gig? Sheeeeeit.

Awkward, yes.  But it was neither his nor Savannah's fault.

I see she's wearing her Joker makeup again.

I was wondering the same thing. Did the give him "Meet the Press" now because it's on his bucket list?

Moral of the story is either "don't use consumer-level telecom tech in a TV segment" or "test it first to make sure you aren't delayed like a mofo".

It's not like there aren't mostly-lag-free videoconferencing services. More than likely, MSNBC went the cheap-o route.

Am I the only one who is reminded of Rhys Darby, circa Flight Of The Conchords, when I see Chuck Todd? Especially when he had more hair.

I haven't watched this, but I've seen enough interviews done by satellite to know that, yes, sometimes there are pauses due to latency that make the conversation more awkward. This sounds really reachy.

Given she just had a baby, I'd have to say:  "At least once."

I just can't picture Chuck Todd being any better than David Gregory.  Maybe Tim Russert set the bar too high.  Maybe I still believe, like I did when Gregory took over, that the job should belong to Maddow.

Chuck Todd is going to moderate Meet the Press?  Seriously?  Well, shiat, I guess it can't be any worse than what CNN did to Crossfire, where it's now literally a mean old white guy against a smug young(er) black guy.

Which is funny considering how Cisco has Rachel Maddow pimping their TelePresence software almost every night.

Chuck Todd knows his shiat, tho. Gregory was just a pompous ass.

I've never seen Chuck Todd (CHUCK TODD! - say it like STEVE HOLT!) on the big electric teevee machine when it wasn't awkward and cringe inducing. And "Can I call you Mama Guthrie?" might well be the hardest-hitting question he's ever asked of any guest. The transition of Disco Dave to CHUCK TODD! will be seamless and the tradition of "Meet The Press - No Real Journalism Here, Just Lots Of Republican Talking Points" will continue unabated.

That's it? I figured he was going to propose and she'd answer, "um, OK, how about we discuss it? But I really appreciate you asking."

I'm still scratching my head on how Savannah Guthrie still has her hosting gig at NBC/"Today."

Whenever I see Chuckie I think welcher.  Several years ago he made a bet with someone else that, if he lost, he had to shave off that goatee of his.  He lost, then refused to shave.  It actually was a running joke on the Today show for a couple weeks.

I pretty much lost all respect for the guy then and he has yet to prove me wrong.

I wake up in the morning, turn on Today, fap to Savannah, take a dump, take a shower, and get on with my day.  Without Savannah I'd have to hit the snooze button one more time.
