Nah. It's only misogyny if you disagree with anything written by a part-time jezebel blogger, doubt the source of any handwritten note produced as evidence by a woman who claims she is offended, or mention dongles around a supposed tech reporter.

Talking about Sarah Palin being ridden like a bucking bronco is okay With the great minds of professional victimhood.

back bacon is the Canadian/British term. It is less common here, so I guess we just called it based one where we thought it came from.

What do Canadians call the stuff that us Americans call "Canadian Bacon"? Is that what y'all call "back bacon"? And why is "Canadian bacon" a term that is met with such resentment? It doesn't seem like an offensive term. Americans have no problem with "American cheese".

That said, back bacon is not ham.

The confusion also comes from the fact that "Canadian bacon" is not exactly back bacon. I am just going by wikipedia here (I'm learning a lot about pork products today, apparently), but the American product is close to back bacon. It is slightly different, however. So maybe that's why it is hammier. I dunno. I am not a meat product expert.

BigNumber12: Funny how tough Canada is, so long as big brother is standing right behind them.

Tough enough to send naive kids to die or get maimed in Afghanistan, because that's what allies do,  and then have your country decide it was time to lie to the entire world, including all your allies, about WMDs in Iraq and start another war, thereby dividing its forces and most likely screwing up the hunt for Bin Laden for years and wasting billions of everyone's dollars (in addition to creating a bunch of human suffering in both Iraq and Afghanistan). Kind of sucks our "big brother" is a gigantic asshole, but coincidentally enough so is my actual big brother so I guess that's just how shiat goes and really, most governments are gigantic assholes.

That said, the Canada/Russia exchanges are nothing more than an appeasement of a huge voting Ukrainian population in Saskatchewan. Sabre rattling at its best.

/ so glad we didn't get suckered into Iraq like the Britain did

It does have a similar taste to ham. But that doesn't mean it is ham.

Ham is cured meat from rear leg of a pig. Back bacon is from the tenderloin.
