It may not be right, but if you've ever taught kids it's understandable.

I feel the same about some of my repeat customers.  "Oh, this dumb fark again."

Though I will say I must also question the intelligence of anyone in this day and age who thinks putting such "thoughts" out on social media is okie dokie.

They should get a different teacher during summer school, not the same one again. If one teacher tries to run over the kids, blame the teacher. If both teachers try to run over the kids, blame the kids.

The Newark Unified School District released a statement Thursday, saying it took "appropriate disciplinary steps", and confirmed that Hodges is still teaching.

LOL unions.
If you did this in any other job you'd be fired on the spot.

Go ahead, tweet that your co-workers "make your trigger finger itchy" and say you're going to "get all the (expletives)". Not only will you be fired, you will probably be arrested. Teachers? Well, we will go ahead and give them an oral warning. A written one might be too strong. Ironically students can't even draw a picture of a gun or shape their pop-tart like one, but teachers can threaten to kill their students.

Threaten to kill their students? Really? I doubt the kids felt threatened. Though they at worst realized they might not get a fair shake from this teacher. Teacher needs to be taught to keep her mouth shut, doesn't mean she's a "danger" to society.

Compare and contrast with the teacher in Maryland who was whisked away for a forced psych eval and banned from county property while being investigated, because he wrote (under a pen name) a fantasy book that included a school shooting scene.

By the way, not EVERY school goes overboard with the whole pop-tart gun type stuff. Tons of kids accidentally bring toy guns to school occasionally, because kids are stupid. The rare times when administration overreacts is when you hear about it on the news.  So now your demanding that the school overreact to a teacher because some schools overreact to a kid?

Do we really want someone teaching that is so stupid they comment on social media.  I know teenagers that are more aware not to do this, than this adult.  Hey teacher how is that skating by in college working out for ya?  Ah yes, Teachers' unions another solid Democrat voting base, "protect me from myself I cannot handle freedom of choice."

I think you had an issue with comprehension on the "get all the (expletives)" part of the quote.  She meant those kids would be enrolled in her course AGAIN after failing the previous semester.  A very common teacher dilemma.

/has 4 kids on his rosters this year who failed his course last year

NEWSFLASH: There are a lot of teachers that feel this way about students.

After drinking with a few folks in the profession, it's fun to hear them unload after a few cocktails. Some kids are just plain awful to deal with.

Also, it's great the teacher is incorporating Ronnie James Dio in the lesson plans.

No, but if you're going to pay people mediocre salaries to be teachers and babysitters then this is what you're going to get.

I'll never understand why so many people seem to think teaching is the only profession where you can get top tier talent with modest pay. You'd have pay me to TWICE what teachers make in my district before I'd even THINK about maybe doing that job. Between asshole kids and - even worse - their asshole parents, there is no way I'm dealing with that bullshiat for $45,000-$70,000 a year. I may not get 6 weeks off in the summer, but I also don't have to listen to some dickcheese parent scream in my ear for 45 minutes because I dared to flunk her precious little snowflake who spent the entire semester texting pictures of herself in various states of undress to her classmates instead of doing her damn homework.

There's a lot of shiatty teachers out there, just like there's a lot of shiatty public employees. But the fact is, like any other professional job on the planet, you can't jack up the standards on them without also raising their compensation or this is what you're going to get.

Teachers get fired every summer.

I am married to a teacher who used to teach public high school and never will again.  The vast majority of students are fine.  However, there are a significant number that make life a living hell for teachers and administrators.  Until you have been in their situation, you just really don't know how horrible it can be.  The lack of dscipline at home and real consequences at school leave teachers often feeling helpless and hopeless.  While this lady was totally stupid for making those tweets, I completely understand her setiments...

I think a whole class could be made studying RJD's lyrics about how the truth is really a lie, or you can see a rainbow in the dark, or how heaven is really hell, or how when it really comes down to it sometimes she's just a hoochie koochie mama trying to be Park Avenue.

It's really easy to spot those who either have never taught or are not married or directly related to someone who taught.

Middle and high school are the absolute toughest grades to teach. The majority of kids are fine, follow instruction and rules reasonably well, and do okay overall, but there are always some kids who make it their personal mission in school to absolutely wreak havoc on a teacher's life. Often these are the kids who have parents who are either themselves complete arseholes or believe their little snowflake would never do such things and you couldn't convince them otherwise even with video of their demonism. Of course you also have the kids who really are just about as dumb as a used oil filter.

I completely empathize with what this teacher is saying, but holy chit, do your ranting in a bar with other teachers, not on twitter.

Also, this made my day:

ZAZ: If one teacher tries to run over the kids, blame the teacher. If both teachers try to run over the kids, blame the kids.
