If you had ebola recently you should be immune.

I'd do it as long as I was given the right equipment to do the job.

Paper suit ,gloves and an N95 mask.

Do I have to go to Africa to do it? Also, what do I do with them once I've picked them up? I don't have to keep them, do I?

What about the hazard pay for going to goddamned Africa? Even Ebola's like, whoa, I'd better get out of here.

Do I get an awesome pointy plague mask? Can I walk around the town ringing a bell and yelling "Bring out ye dead, Bring out ye dead"?

Wow, a 1000 bucks a month?  Sheesh, the annual income in Liberia according to the internetz is $400.

If you actually work the whole year and survive, you've made 30 times the annual income of a regular Liberian worker.

bring out your dead

For $1000 a month in Africa you could probably retire like a king after 3 months - if you lived.

A burial team collects a body from the Ebola unit at JFK hospital in Monrovia.

Is everything there named after US presidents?

Or at least pretty resistant. Nobody is completely immune with a viral overload. Probably have to inject them with pure Ebola though.

Their last defense is a prayer. The men gather in a circle and touch hands: "God our father, ... as we are going in ... may you be the protector. We will take the precautionary measures, but may you seal us with your holy spirit and with your angels ..."

/I find it very funny, and not in a haha, kind of way. that one would pray to a "God" that smited your country with a plague that kills everyone it hits, good or bad. I would wonder personally if 1. God exists at all, 2. is he just an ass, or 3. he just doesn't give a shiat. Either way, not sure i would be praying at all, as it would seem that there is really nobody up there that is going to help you. Not that it would hurt, whatever gets you through the day, but still. Seems a bit retarded. These poor bastards are driving around in quarter ton pick up trucks slinging leaking bodies into the back of them, while they wear street clothes. I'm pretty sure that most of them will end up dying. What a horrible situation.

Exactly. After the civil war. The war of Northern Aggression started by President Ben Franklin.

Interesting that there's something so devastating in such an insecure environment. Similar to the old plague-body in the catapult trick... ebola body in a remotely-started wood-chipper with a big fan?

When the average monthly salary is $30, then yes.  And I'd imagine that a lot of the $30/month jobs are also jobs  where the slightest mistake exposes you to near certain death

Would you do something similar for $100K per month in the US or Europe?

Probably better to spec this as some multiplier of current salary. Nobody is going to take a pay cut for this job. Plus, at some point, no amount of money is worth increasing risk. If you're having a tough go at it for $40k/year, then $100k with mitigated risk might be ok, but Someone making $130K in a tech job probably doesn't really need more money enough to consider anything drastic.

Yes I would do it for $100K /mth and I'm not even financially desperate. With that kind of dough I can buy the bext equipment gear etc for protection and mitigate the risk significantly
