In the unlikely event of a volcanic supereruption at Yellowstone National Park

It's not unlikely, in fact it's extremely likely, almost inevitable.  Just not anytime soon.

Actually there was an article not long ago proclaiming it extinct.

Once ebola gets to America then yellowstone will erupt and wipe out all the infected people at once, saving everyone (upwind)!

Stop TRYING to explode and EXPLODE already, preferably before I have to shoot myself in the head in lieu of having a real retirement.

If I remember correctly, it's not that it's extinct, just that the continental plate had drifted enough that the next eruption won't be at Yellowstone. So while that caldera may be extinct, the actual system is alive and well and will blow when it's ready.

That's how you know the end is actually nigh.

Well, considering that this region is where we keep most of our intercontinental ballistic missiles. (ICBMs - aka Nukes)
then the blast will be WAY beyond than just Mother Nature's fury.

Basically, the US is screwed.
And likely the rest of world too...for the nuclear winter.

So, no worries.

Pretty sure nuclear weapons don't detonate just from getting too hot. Plus I think Yellowstone would be more severe than the weapons in that area.

Not to mention that Yellowstone would just melt the weapons anyway

Do you how I know that you have no idea as to how nuclear weapons actually work?

Some say a comet will fall from the sky followed by meteor showers and tidal waves followed by faultlines that cannot sit still. I think it'll be the Yellowstone caldera.

Even a minor eruption would seriously fark up our country's ability to function.  Good thing that on a geological scale, being overdue for an eruption, could be a state that lasts millions of years.

Meh.  Most of us will be ok...

Oh...so the news story revelation that a simple screwdriver drop almost triggered a nuclear accident in one of the bunkers...is totally phony??
Better tell that to the documentary and those who remember it.

Much less all the other close calls...those revealed...and those not revealed.

It's not the friggin' direct blast that will do it, idiots...it's all the earth movements and otherwise that will do it...an large uncontrollable catalyst that potentially will set off quite many
You don't realize that 1970's-1980's period equipment is running these things.

Do you know how I know you don't know how reality works?

Famous last words, "they're safe no matter what".

Calling us idiots doesn't change anything. Volcanos and earthquakes can't detonate nuclear bombs unless they somehow cause a short that sets them off. Further more most of our nukes aren't near there. And most importantly, even if it did somehow trigger some of them to go off, it wouldn't make much difference because of how huge Yellowstone would be.
