Extremely looking forward to SOA, and as a fan of the King Arthur legend I also eagerly await the latter Hunnam project. The guy oozes intensity.

I'm in!

Why, subby?

Better him than Charlie Sheen.

On second thought, let's not go there.  'Tis a silly place.

I've only seen him hunt Kaiju, so far.

I think he'd be great in this, I hope it involves nudity.

hammy scene chewing.

That looked like more of an ad for the SOA show than anything regarding a movie role...

Me too.  I stopped watching SOA because it became too silly (and I just don't have time to watch TV).  I would like to see that man's rear again, though.

Will he have to sing like Richard Harris?  That version got old fast

I, also, would like to sign on to this concept.

Well, he wouldn't have to pretend to have an American accent.  So that's a plus.

I'm... cautiously... looking forward to SoA's final season.  I just hope it doesn't continue to be Katy Sagal's Husband Presents the Katy Sagal Show Starring Katy Sagal interspersed with scenes of Jax's self-pitying brooding.

He was good as Nathan in the original Queer As Folk. Don't think I've seen him in anything else (I don't watch SoA). I could see him as Arthur, but there are so many different takes on that legend it's hard to screw it up too badly.

his american accent is pretty bad.  like the way he always manages to drag an extra syllable in-between the "C" and the "L" in "Club"
as in Jax sayin "My KH-UU-LUB!"

I really should have stopped with SoA after Season 2.  The show has gotten more riduclous and adding more and more unbelievable  levels bullshiat that should have had everyone involved dead or in jail...but last season really placed Indy in the Fridge, put that fridge on water skis and then nuked it while it was jumping the shark tank.

and not just that they keep insisting on allowing "Chucky" to eat screen time with ever more pointless "wacky" antics (a kazoo? really...an entire episode for a kazoo?)
but after how the finale ended with Tara...I'm done with that show.  Every character except one that I liked are dead now.  fark it. done.

Why? He's absolutely brilliant. Except for that disaster Madonna vanity thingy he did. And honestly, that wasn't really his fault.

I absolutely loved "Camelot", probably one of the best versions of the King Arthur's story, and yet again, another series killed after one season.

It was barely getting started, but it already touched on so many things that has never been explored properly.

The actors were all amazing, including Eva Green that was amazing in it.

I feel your pain.  Season 3 should have been over in three episodes ("Where's Abel! Belfast! Let's go get him! [bang bang] Done. Now, about Agent Stahl...").  Juice just needs to die now.  The CIA thing was stupid.  Otto took too long to die.  Chucky's rotating quirks need to go.  Unser is NEVER going to die.  Tara kept flipping between mastermind and idiot.  Sigh...

I guess at this point I'm going to watch the final season out of a need for completeness, and because there are enough characters (Bobby, Tig, Nero, Chibs) who I still care about.  My wife has been on board up until the end of season six.  Now she's out, and she just wants me to tell her if anything interesting happens.

I think my wife and I are opposite y'all.  She'll watch... I'll read dumb twitter jokes on my phone and look up if anything cool happens.

I don't understand why other clubs and criminal organizations continue to do business with the SOA. If you come in contact with them, then you or someone close to you will die. Every scheme they come up with fails. I think the townsfolk of Charming, the other gangs and MCs, various white supremacist organizations, and all law enforcement agencies should all team up and just wipe out the sons. Just to protect themselves and their loved ones.

Ummm, why would they ever do this as six theatrical movies? Far better as a TV series on any of the cable heavyweights.

Charlie Hunnam will portray King Arthur in Guy Ritchie's new Camelot epic.

Natalie Portman will portray Genghis Kahn in Guy Ritchie's new Civil War epic.

That would happen, and  then it would turn out that a Mexican drug dealer friend is a secret double agent of SHIELD.

I think he's a good actor but I agree, nobody should ever hire him to play an American. His American accent is the reverse of Dick van Dyke in Mary Poppins.

I'm hoping he gets his Vlad the Impaler project off the ground. I'm more interested in a Hollywood, non-Dracula, movie about the dude's life and Hunnam sounds absolutely passionate about it.

I know she used to sing professionally, but the songs she does for the show are tortuous.

CH's not nearly as bad as DVD in Mary Poppins. Though in DVD's defense, his accent coach was Irish. So he didn't really stand a chance.

Well, bands of Medieval knights were a lot like motorcycle gangs, so it shouldn't be that much of a stretch.

I read somewhere that he had Colin Farrell and Christian Bale in mind for the part. Sounds like what he really wants to do is direct.

Guy Ritchie's doing a Camelot epic?  So Lancelot/Gawain/rest of the Knights all happen to be Cockneys from the East End, Alan Ford is King Arthur (which would kick about 9000 kinds of ass), some new sloppy tart is Gwinevere and Morgana is a dude played by Mark Strong?

Let's do this thing.

Just read the IMDB, I would also accept Alan Ford as Merlin.

She sang back up on tour with Bette Midler.

Someone needs to tell her sometimes there's a reason one person is in front and another person is in back.

Merlin: Good dags. D'ya like dags?
Arthur: Dags?
Merlin: Dags. Ya like dags?
Morgase: Yeah, dags.
Arthur: Oh,  dogs. Sure, I like dags. I like ruling Britain more.
Morgase: You're fairly welcome.

No Arthurian film will ever top John Boornan's weird and beautiful Excalibur. It kind of verges on Monty Python at times but it'd so lush and strange and over-the-top. Nicol Williamson's Merlin is ludicrously brilliant and silly, no director today would let an actor get away with that in a huge movie.

2014-08-28 06:23:29 PM
I thought Hunnam was great years ago, in Green Street Hooligans, but really not much else.... he seems like a different person.     A lot of people say that when he does a Yank accent, it forces him to slow down his speech, which in turn affects his acting.
