Maybe one will be a classic rock album.... he is a very underrated guitarist and should show off once in a while

Piss off, submitter. Most of Prince's catalog is light years better than most artists' output these days.

Too bad subby can't appreciate true musical genius.

This is disappointing. I was hoping he would finally pursue his basketball career. He's not getting any younger.

As a comedian said  recently "remember when we used to seriously argue who was better, Prince or Michael Jackson?  Prince WON"

His halftime Superb Owl show was the only one of the last decade worth watching

xanadian: ^^ All of these.

Yep.

And does subby think no one else who made music in the 80s is still making music?

2014-08-28 01:29:54 PM
For such a petite man, he plays a helluva guitar and drums and vocals and whatever else he decides to do.....

"I found Prince!"

"No, finger prints!"

"...I don't think so."

Why, subby? Did Prince suddenly develop arthritis, Parkinson's and Alzheimer's?

Otherwise, fark off. He'll be able to outplay anything you could do 50 years after he's dead and in the grave.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that subby had never had a nipple by 1985, and has gotten all of their knowledge of the year(And the decade overall) from Buzzfeed lists.

That was Dave Chappelle. And Prince should do every halftime show. It was raining when he played Purple Rain, and it was beautiful. It was a real, genuine, emotional moment for everyone who watched.

That was Chris Rock during "Never Scared". But Dave Chappelle was hilarious skewering Prince:

Prince - he's not so charming.  (And why hasn't he assumed the throne as King yet - and I don't mean
King as in "FREE AT LAST!" - although I wish we were free of Prince and his hokey hieroglyph called
"Christopher".)

Prince Charming - Snow White, and also Cinderella.  Prince assumes the throne as King when the king
dies.  "FREE AT LAST!" - Martin Luther King.  Prince once used an anchor-shaped hieroglyph as his
name; he claimed it stood for "Christopher".   OK - we've killed the humor; you happy now?

Subby probably thinks 1985 is the sequel to '1984'. And has zero understanding of musical talent.

Crewmannumber6: Kevin Smith on Prince
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZZomOd9BeY

Man, I don't have time for this whole thing right now, but what I've watched so far is so farking awesome. I'm right to the point where Smith went to Paisley Park to meet Prince.

Two things:

1.) This is 100% exactly what I would have expected from a story about meeting Prince as told by Kevin Smith would be like. Not a thing yet has actually surprised me.
2.) If you look at the etymology of the word "eccentric", it was created with one person in mind. They knew that one day this dude named Prince would be walking the earth and all previous 'eccentric' people were just honing the art for him. And I wouldn't want it any different.

Thanks for the link!

i've been to hundreds of concerts...possibly 1000s...small club shows, county fair shows, arenas, amphitheatres, huge fests, etc...

prince, dec 1998, frankfurt am main, germany, remains firmly in the top 3 best concerts i've witnessed!

haters just don't understand

coworker went to see him about a month ago in new orleans...she said it was one of the best concerts she's been to

2014-08-28 04:15:57 PM
Sometimes I wonder if the Prince haters are also jealous that a short average man like Prince has tons of talent and slept with some of the best looking women out there, and sang lyrics about things Farmers would even be too scared to talk about.

Prince lives the life most guys only dream about.

Nabb1: Piss off, submitter. Most of Prince's catalog is light years better than most artists' output these days.

Even if his star has faded relatively, on his lowest days he's still brighter than most flash in the pan "hip" acts that won't last more than a few years (I'm looking at you Miley Cyrus and Justin Beiber... don't believe me? look what happened to Lady Gaga and Kanye West)
