Apparently, according to a Spanish TV station, Xabi Alonso is going to Bayern. And thanks to United, Real have actually spent 1 million less than they've earned on transfer fees.

Malmo and Bayer are hogging all the goals at the moment. 2 apiece for them.

Bilbao! It always amazes me that a team that was always flirting with relegation when I was a kid is one of the few clubs in Europe to never be relegated.

Arsenal have looked better. Besiktas is the more dangerous looking team right now, by far. Very organized on defense, good pressure on the ball, more composed in their half of the pitch. Arsenal needs to score first to win this. And make no mistake, they NEED to win this.

For the Alonso-Bayern transfer, all that's left is Florentino Perez's approval. Getting a 10 million euro yearly salary before taxes, with Real getting 5-10 million in transfer fees if it goes through.

The fourth-place trophy would lose its shine otherwise.

Is that first row place in Europe discussing the matches? It's difficult to find a good discussion about Arsenal Champions League matches

2014-08-27 03:36:39 PM
Bayer is spanking the filter's favorite 3-0. Malmo's still up 2-0. Everything else is 0-0.

Did you see that ludicrous display last night?

Beskitas still just one goal away from going through to the next round. Arsenal really loves to keep things stressful.

2014-08-27 03:43:31 PM
Oh wow, Bilbao missed an open goal from six yards. Come on.

2014-08-27 03:43:45 PM
goddamn stupid american announcers. it's not "road goals", it's "away goals".

I'm getting pretty tired of watching Ozil play on the wing. He's the clubs record signing fer christs sake, play him in his preferred position

2014-08-27 04:05:06 PM
Oh, that was close.

2014-08-27 04:05:49 PM
Athletic are back in it. Aritz Aduriz evens up the match and the aggregate.

2014-08-27 04:08:50 PM
dammit flamini, thank you side netting

2014-08-27 04:09:10 PM

Bayer has gone MK Dons on Kobenhavn.

This game's gonna give me a heart attack.

2014-08-27 04:11:03 PM
Whoa, Athletic are ahead. Aduriz's brace is putting them in the next round.

I can't help noticing that all three Fox Sports-aired matches are from the League Route: Copenhagen/Leverkusen on FSN, Arsenal/Besiktas on FS1, Napoli/Bilbao on FS2.

I absolutely would have watched one of the Champions Route matches (Red Bull Salzburg/Malmo or Steuea Bucuresti/Ludogorets Razgrad). I like seeing teams I'd normally never get a chance to watch.

Sadly, those are rarely televised over here. I forgot the last Feyenoord match I saw. 2002 maybe?

Bilbao are going through it looks like. Ibai Gomez makes it 3-1.

2014-08-27 04:18:02 PM
Ozil is not good at counters.

2014-08-27 04:18:41 PM
How do you screw up a 3 on 2, Arsenal?

2014-08-27 04:19:16 PM
