You sit there and you thump your Bible, and you say your prayers, and it didn't get you anywhere! You can talk about your Psalms and your John 3:16's... Well, DUCEY 3:16 says, "I just whooped your ASS!"

I've been looking for the song, but can't find it. Local icon/DJ Dave Pratt did a song with his band that was exactly that. Singing about Cold Stone Creamery to the music of Stone Cold Crazy. It was actually pretty cool.

Really? Wrestling is a silly diversion, in which the participants engage in comically exaggerated displays of aggression and self-promotion. Only rarely is anyone actually injured, but feuds fester for years in some cases. The participants change their loyalties and even their identities at will, and it's all in the service of a shadowy patriarch who's making bank on the deal hand over fist.

Sounds a lot like Fark to me.

With you on the overall outcome but don't understand the APS puppets win. Same voters that elected them will be griping when the rates increase due to more corporate profits needed.

Working for that place was like taking a crash course in capitalist culture.  In front of customers, it was a bunch of spry, wide-eyed smiling teenagers singing songs and scooping out rainbow-colored globs of pure joy for equally ecstatic customers of all ages.

In the back work area, it was the manager hunched over a clipboard listening in and meticulously noting each time we failed to upsell or weren't working fast enough.  Because the one I worked at was right next to a high school (i.e. an infinite labor supply), the franchisees didn't have any scruples about firing us, and they relished taking advantage of that privilege for every minor infraction.

It got so bad that, when the manager I worked for left, they didn't have anyone at the store to promote who had been there more than three years, which is the company policy.  All in all, though, it was a good place for a first-year college student and a budding liberal to work at.

Something about ice cream appeals to Republicans....in Illinois, the GOP's candidate for the Senate
is Jim Oberweis, who sells dairy products.  (How does he justify criticizing Dick Durbin for "bullying"
Walgreens, when Oberweis charges twice the price for milk and ice cream that, to me, aren't that
special, but other folks feel guilty that they aren't paying him enough?  Brainwashing people into
buying overpriced crap is bullying itself - no, it's General Motors corporate policy, too.)

I've hated the booking leading up to the November PPV. No buildup, too much hotshotting of candidates and the lobbyists keep supporting and pushing the heels that have X-pac level heat.

That doesn't totally surprise me. The campaign as a whole was particularly nasty and Ducey was ganged up on quite a bit over Cold Stone and its failures. I don't remember all the details as I had to tune it all out for my own sanity, but I can say it was a relief that Tuesday came to end that crap.

The general election should be interesting. The DEM primary was an uncontested race so he has a fairly blank slate while Ducey has to recover from all of the negative tactics his opponents pulled.

/And thank FSM that we're going to have a new state AG and head of education after the assholes in those two jobs lost yesterday.
