(Fansided)   About that heartwarming Josh Shaw story from yesterday, replace "saving his cousin" with "evading the police" and "drowning in the pool" with "for domestic violence charges." He did jump from a balcony though   (fansided.com) divider line 36

Where did subby get his info? I'm not seeing that anywhere. Or if there is information that matches what subby said, why didn't subby actually link to that information?

/No idea if Shaw is lying or not

Well the article said nothing that subby said but k.

Well it did sound pretty shady but jeez. I thought maybe he got hurt doing something dumb, not criminal.

The cops interviewed his girlfriend as part of the investigation and she's the one who volunteered that it sounds like him. He might be catting around on her and used an "alternate exit" so as not to bump into her in the hallway or lobby...

Lionel Hutz approves.

I did call that is smelled like a cover-up although I assumed it was dumassery versus criminality.

After reading the "article" and this thread, I'm thoroughly confused as to what the fark I'm supposed to believe happened in the first place...

Obviously this is rooted in racism.

Alternate exit.......heh

I don't know if it's true, but from what I am hearing his original story is definitely not true.

Basically: if you're going to make up a story, make it plausible.

I'm all for feel-good stories but when I heard "dude jumps off balcony to rescue drowning swimmer" it just sounded like pure uncut bullshiat. I just assumed he had jumped off a balcony or something while 3 sheets to the wind and this is the story he'd brilliantly concocted to tell the school.

I saw a website that said it had proof Shaw took a swing at the patio before the incident so it was totally justifiable when the patio smashed his ankles in self-defense.

Jack Lambert's Missing Teeth: Well it did sound pretty shady but jeez. I thought maybe he got hurt doing something dumb, not criminal.

Yes, when I first read about the "saving the nephew" thing, I thought: not serious.  The only thing realistic about the story was his coach putting out a statement saying, essentially "gee, that's nice, and I hope he can come back soon (else he won't be on the team)."  I immediately assumed he was at a party and took a bet or something like that.

Because one girl tweeted the story and started it with "Sources"?

/That's some great work there, Lou...

Someone on TV said he had been named in a burglary complaint.

Cat Food Sandwiches: Someone on TV said he had been named in a burglary complaint.

Yes, he was identified as matching the burglar's description, though he denies being present at the location

If it's on the internet, it's gotta be true.

Read somewhere that USC had some doubt about his story to begin with, but decided they would go along with it anyway, hoping the issue would die quickly and quietly.

guess that backfired on them a bit....

The story sort of stunk from the get go.  He was at a family party, yet he - on the balcony - was the closest person to a 7-year-old who had fallen into the pool?

2014-08-27 10:45:46 AM
Even Manti Te'o thought the story sounded fishy.

Well here's more details about this from the Washington Post

That's my guess... There were a bunch of "jumps off roof into pool" videos floating around a few months ago, and this sounds like a similar attempt and fail.

What doesn't make sense is the people suggesting he jumped out of the balcony to avoid cops investigating a DV complaint. Like, Officers come to a house on a complaint, see a guy jump off the balcony, shrug and leave; same guy goes to the hospital, ends up in front of news cameras praised as a hero, and no cops ever show up to arrest him or even investigate?

Good.  This will give him more time to search for the real nephew-drowning pool.

Well the coach is Steve Sarkisian, so be prepared to find out how short "indefinitely" actually is.

FriarReb98: And now he's suspended indefinitely.

He isn't playing indefinitely so an indefinite suspension isn't hurting him or team that badly. Hell, with two high ankle sprains, he may be medical redshirted depending on how the season goes.
