The National Topless Day article was better. Topless Church is probably way too crowded.

If by putting it to the man you mean siting in jail after having the fourth hole punched in your "states I have been arrested in" card then yea, good for them....

$200??  The "man" is going to tell you to go feed the pigeons and quit wasting his time.

/$50,000 bail for $200 crime?  Get a grip, Minnesota!

Yes, we all should, the legitimacy of a for-profit-casino has been supported by expending public funds; you go, free market.

Some Coke Drinking Guy: Why is the Florida tag being used for something that happened in Minnesota?

I was wondering the same thing, I guess SUBBY saw the paper from West Palm and just assumed, mods didn't RTFA either.
They're just looking for misogyny now, not headline or tag coherence. PC will be the fall of fark.

"Integrity is important," spokesman Jeff Maday said Thursday. "It's important if you are another one of the players. You want to know that the game is legit."

All casino games are legitimately rigged in the casino's favor.  If you walk out with a lot more money than you came in with, you WILL be sued.

I thought that law enforcement was one of the few functions of government that free market types considered legitimate.  I never see them getting upset over police brutality and the like (except for sobriety checkpoints).

News; four people cheated the casino.
Not news; the casino cheated everyone else in the building.

But when the casino uses every trick in the book to stack the odds in their favor and trick people into spending all their money, it's called good business.

Why not just eliminate all comments? Seems divisive and politically incorrect to allow people to have an opinion.

What happens if you cheat at gambling in a state where gambling is legal, then manage to make it across the border into a state where gambling is illegal?

The case I remember hearing about involved not cheating, but a guy running up a debt at an casino on an indian reservation (why the casino allowed him to run up a debt is the real mystery here).  Since gambling was illegal everywhere in the state except on the reservation, the state government to the position that the debt was illegal in origin, and could not be enforced.  In this case, it helped that the state really resented the presence of the indian casino and was happy to stick it to them any way they could.

ReapTheChaos: But when the casino uses every trick in the book to stack the odds in their favor and trick people into spending all their money, it's called good business.

Well, now, it's not just the casino. The states mandate that the odds be stacked in the casinos favor, because their sweet, sweet tax flow is based on the casino's winnings.  The tax monies must flow!

/ Worked with the Illinois Gaming Board at it's inception, so I know this for a fact.

As someone who lives in Florida, I am highly offended by the Florida tag on Fark.

Then using an orange as the "o" is the last straw.

I don't understand why we can't call chicks broads, but it's OK to make fun of this great state.

UNAUTHORIZED FINGER: Reporter: "Well, how do you know they were cheating?"

Is that a quote from somewhere?

I seem to recall a casino in Vegas refusing to honor a jackpot receipt, claiming that a slot machine had been improperly set.  The reason they knew it had been improperly set was that it was not supposed to pay out the top jackpot, ever.

I don't believe this story. This would call for collusion on the part of State of Nevada, as I'm sure they must approve the payout tables for the eproms used in the machines.

I think the Nevada gaming commission took the customer's side in  the incident for that reason.  That, and once word gets out of casino refusing to pay up, it would hurt the entire state.

Felony charge for $200, meantime casinos' ban people who are good and win too much legitimately.

Yea, they won more than 200.  The casino is lying - shocking.

Seems like an awful lot of work for a $200 payout.

When I read a headline like that, I always ask: Who has the movie rights?

Sometimes I cast the movie in my head.

Much of the universe exists only in my head. I'm not a solipsist, I just lean vaguely that way.

Last night I dreamed of a woman (played by Candice Bergen) who felt compelled to buy ultra-real lights that she saw in paintings. There were some wonderful paintings, lamps, and candle holders that I will never see again, including a striking portrait of a small bunch of white night flowers against a dark background. Even the flowers probably don't exist.

I dream in multi-media. Too bad I am not a musician or artist.

Cast for a standard old men caper movie:

The Black Guy you expect to die before the end: Morgan Freeman (it's always Morgan Freeman nowadays)
The Angry, Curmudgeonly Old Guy:  Mel Gibson
The Brain of the Operation:  Benedict Cumberbatch
The Nice Guy:  George Clooney
Comic Relief:  Jackie Chan

Let's say they steal the real Mona Lisa and sell seven copies (made by Jackie Chan) to six evil corporate overlords who will never admit to buying them and keep the original over Benedict Cumberbatch's towel rack.

The eighth copy goes back to the Louvre to replace the fake that was placed there the last time the real Mona Lisa was stolen by a bunch of half-assed loons.

2014-08-24 03:39:43 PM
And if my math seems screwy, remember:  there is always a surprise extra copy.

I'll bet it's because three of the four people arrested are from Florida.

2014-08-24 04:51:51 PM
Nah, plenty of people from Florida do illegal stuff outside of the state,  you really have to be here to understand just how this place drives you crazy.  Florida Tag should be reserved for in state activities, they've been out of state long enough to dehumidify and get oxygen flowing to the brain again. The attractions in Florid are not traveling.
