With that kind of intelligence combined with his fondness for huge entourages and gambling I'm sure he's not going to be broke and savagely beaten for ever-dwindling paydays against poorly-trained bears once his skills are taken by the undefeated champion that is old age.

I still don't understand WTF this ice bucket challenge thing is supposed to be about.

As for this genius, it's amusing the bet is over a page from Harry Potter, a book full of goofy proper nouns that most literate people can't pronounce.

Hes in his late thirties. I give it 5 years before he learns the hard lesson "it ain't what you make, its what you spend".

All I know is it's for a good cause and relatively easy to ignore, so I haven't gotten too annoyed by it (yet).

Yes but does he bang supermodels too?

I find it amazing he has that much money.  I don't know anyone who cares about boxing.  I haven't for at least 20 years.

Having heard him speak, I have have serious doubts he'll ever "learn" anything.

One day, there will be a dead accountant and a poor excuse when Floyd suddenly stops spending anything anywhere. That'll be the end of it.

I feel sorry for him.  He will never know the joy of spending a long, leisurely Sunday morning browsing the Fark threads and - OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE?!?

You gotta love the check numbers - 2012919, 2012168

I'ma guessin' he chose a pretty high starting number. That's a boxer for you.  Who the fark would believe, even for a second, that he had over 2 million checks drawn from that account. And hand written at that.

Sure I might choose a starting number of 1200 but 2000000, come on!

You'll see Floyd vs. Manny when the casinos cut off his tab.

More like: boxing is wrapping up.  They need to stop paying the guys as much and lower PPV and ticket prices or they'll lose current fans and fail to gain new fans.  Same goes for baseball.

It's not like musicians, athletes, and other entertainers often quickly go broke when they don't realize the pay days won't forever come. I'm sure he'll be okay.

Even most of the guys holding pieces of a "championship" aren't making shiat. The promoters and the sanctioning bodies need to steal less. More fights do need to be on network TV, and the rankings and judging need to be less corrupt as well. None of this will happen. Professional boxing will die, and given what it does to the participants' health, it's just as well. If it's animal cruelty to stage pit bull fights, it's cruelty to stage retard fights, too.

"This is so mean..." For a radio pro to leak, then rip on a guy for agreeing to do a PSA for your own radio network is kinda effed up, actually...he's a boxer, not a President with a Teleprompter...

If you are the best in the world at whatever you do, no matter how meaningless, chances are you're going to be pretty well-off.

His business model basically nets him his boxing purse and the "Don King" purse for every fight.

Those aren't his checks; they're checks written to him from the promotions company.
