Take Disney with you, ESPN.

Umm, yeah.
Hate to break it to you, but it wasn't just ESPN that was highly amused. The rest of the internet found it funny too.

Turns out, about sack 3, they start saying that 40 time isn't one of those "football" things. You can't teach that, football speed, etc.

Good on Johnny for connecting the brands. Dude ain't stupid.

I doubt it. He is devout, but he doesn't come off as fundamentalist, my way is the only way, like the 700 Club. And basically with him he never made his beliefs a focus unless somebody asked him about them.

FTFA:  Then, the former Missouri star, who is attempting to become the league's first openly gay player,

Wait, hasn't he succeeded at doing that yet?

I think he is the first openly gay player.  He's probably not the first gay player though.

I remember rumors about that Oiler who crashed his car on an exit ramp on a freeway in Houston and then ate a shotgun.  The news said he wrecked his Cadillac because he was taking an exit ramp and "apparently was going too fast to negotiate, police said."

I knew someone who worked for ABC at the time and rumor had it that his friend had the driver's dick in his mouth at the time.

I've driven on that exit ramp many times and I don't believe a Cadillac could go fast enough to not be able to handle it.

It's good to know someone who works with a news organization because you get to hear all sorts of stuff that isn't reported either because it's based on unsubstantiated rumor or it's just considered too scandalous for the public.

Oh, he's fundamentalist, or at least he was raised fundy. He's just smart enough to realize that nothing good comes out of being publicly fundy, which is good enough for me.

Then again, I also think we're going to be seeing him come out in a few years, when I was watching SEC Network he was pinging my gaydar so hard dial broke.

He's also still trying to catch on with an NFL club.  He probably needs to hone his craft in the relative obscurity of the CFL for a few years like a few other QBs have done, but his time window is starting to run out.

Chupacabra Sandwich: Drunk Astronaut: He probably needs to hone his craft in the relative obscurity of the CFL

Exactly.  The CFL is a passers league, if you aren't a thrower, you aren't a player.  A lot of option quarterbacks, including a few Heisman Trophy winners have tried using the CFL as a launching pad.  Doug Flutie is the only one that I think succeeded.  Theismann, Moon, and Garcia were terrific passers.

There's only one sack that will be better, and it'll probably happen November 16.

CS,B: A colleague and fellow ECU Maritime alumni was on the team that excavated the SS Maple Leaf, which sunk off Mandarin Point. The St. John's is zero-visibility because of all the sediment that desperately wants to not be in Jacksonville. As they were excavating the wreck site, a large manatee saw the poor guy in his wetsuit and mistook him for a female member of his species.

I feel bad for him, because he's got a CV a mile long and some amazing accomplishments in his field, but whenever newbies run into him at conferences, the first question he gets asked is always, "So what's the story about the horny manatee in Jacksonville?"

Even if he doesn't, the Rams would be foolish not to keep him on the practice squad. And if not, somebody will pick him up.

No, he hasn't succeeded in doing that as he hasn't actually made the team yet.  Once he gets past all the roster cut downs and makes the 53 man roster, then he will have succeeded.

They named the championship trophy after that guy, so I'd say the NFL is anti-homophobia by default. Some guys may disagree, but they are obviously losers. Because Vince was the ultimate winner.

ROFL

I love this joke

Sadly, the Rams have too much depth at DL right now, he might very well not make the team. But they also know better than to try to get him through waivers to the practice squad. The word's out...the boy can play. He ain't a first rounder but he can play.

He'll catch on somewhere.

Sam seems quick around the corner.  The blocker thought his work was done after giving a mighty push to the outside of the pocket.  He needed to stay on Sam for another step.

Until he actually makes the roster then no he technically hasn't, he's made a few plays and due to coverage there is very little chance he won't make the team. That sack was more on the slow offensive lineman more than anything Sams did which is why he was in the backfield before the OL even got out of his stance.

I don't think anyone uses the term "boy" to describe a black man these days, except in historical films.

That was only because of the nature if his mothers pregnancy, if memory serves they were in an area where a cold could kill you for lack of medical care. It was a risky pregnancy with issues she had but decided to keep it going rather than abort.

Having faith does not equate to being a cheerleader for god like most on the 700 club does.
