cost the UK about £3bn a year in unpaid duty.

Next thing you know, they be taxing black market tea.

I half to admit that being American, I can honestly say I don't have any sympathy for the Red Coats mandated "duties". Just replace "cigarettes" with the word "tea" and that memo could easily have a 1770 date stamp on it.

Well, don't tax the piss out of them, and there won't be any real incentive to smuggle them.   When you make something outrageously expensive by government mandate, then *OF COURSE* people are going to try to make a buck getting around that.

of course a brit that looks like this would be so racist:

FTA: In some cases these cigarettes contained human excrement, dead flies and asbestos, the LGA added.

To be fair, it's not like anyone would notice the difference.

They were giving out samples of "Mark Ten" here recently, not bad, honestly. I still prefer my Njoy tank model, but I would consider the Mark Ten's if I was going the disposable route.

SmartestGuyHear: damn. In the US our "black market" cigarettes are just ones that were imported from a non-taxing state and sold at a discount. I wanna try some of those poo and fly cigs though.

You can always make your own cigarettes.  For under $13.00 US I can buy six ounces of loose tobacco and 200 filter tubes.  You will have to make a one time $5.00 investment in a tube injector though.  Here is the thing key to the plan:  buy pipe tobacco.  Yeah, that sounds gross, but it is a hole in the taxation scheme as pipe tobacco is taxed way less than cigarette tobacco.  Natch tobacco companies started selling cigarette tobacco labeled as pipe tobacco.  Looking at my bag, it says, "Tax Class L This product is intended for pipe use only."  Right.  You can get that "pipe tobacco" in menthol...

The difference between "pipe" tobacco and "cigarette" tobacco? How it is cut.

The ATF actually shakes down tobacco shops to make sure the tobacco is labeled and taxed properly. Selling "cigarette" tobacco labeled as "pipe" tobacco will get you raided by the SWAT derp brigade.

Start with an Ego-T battery dealy.  They are moderately priced and good quality and you can get plain black ones that look like pens and are small enough to palm completely.  If you hold it in for a second or two you can vape anywhere you want and no fascists will ever know.

They don't have the manpower to clear the 6 month long backlog of C&R licences, tax stamps, or anything else to do with firearm commerce but by god they can enforce the shiat out of anyone trying to shave a nickel off the price of a cigarette

Loose tobacco also has a lot fewer additives that make it less addictive as well.  I've seen people stop rolling because they weren't getting their fix of 'chemicals' and it didn't feel right.

I'm happy with Vuse. USB charger, 2 pack of cartridges will run around 6.50$ after tax, and each cartridge is about a pack of normal smokes. Also has a bit of heat in the vapor coming off so it mentally tricks my mind a bit into thinking its a real cig.

/Only issue is, they have a known problem with the 'original' tobacco flavor which can cause the prongs that line up to the base battery unit not to connect properly.
//Had a rather lengthy conversation with them about it yesterday.
///No refunds my ass, they are mailing me a check.

Well, that is troubling to me.  The shop that I go to once had a giant cigarette making machine using Gambler (Marlboro clone).  I knew that it was an ill conceived plan and told the guy that. I am not sure he understood what I was saying as he is Indian.  Shortening up the story, they did not have that the next time that I went there.  I do not know, but suspect that Cook County, IL Sheriffs told them to stop doing that, and not the ATF.

Even better:  It was voted one of the official songs of Tennessee by their legislature.  "Yes, we here in the state of Tennessee endorse the concept of killing federal tax agents".

SmartestGuyHear: heh trying to get off the cigs, not make it cheaper to kill meself :)

Then just do it.  Stop it.

I know it *SOUNDS* easy, but believe me, I've been there, and the only thing that really works is to gut it through the 2 to 3 weeks where the withdrawals are bad.

I started dipping snuff/chewing tobacco when I was 18.  For most of my adult life, if I wasn't sleeping or eating (and sometimes when I was), I had a wad of tobacco in my mouth.  Mostly, it was the fine-cut straight tobacco like Copenhagen.  First thing I'd do in the morning?  Pop a pinch between my cheek and gums.  Last thing at night?  Take it out.   And because I could swallow the spit, or spit it in a soda can if I was discreet about it, I could get away with doing it where smokers couldn't.  So I did it nearly every waking moment.

And I tried quitting with that mint-leaf stuff they sold, but it just wasn't the same.  Addicted, was I.

So then my wife came down with thyroid cancer.   Scared the shiat out of me because I didn't want her to have to go through worrying about me if I could avoid it.  So after dipping for 22 years, I quit.  One day I just said "This is it.  No going back".  And I bought a pack of Orbit gum instead.

And it royally sucked.  Badly.

But I toughed it out.  And it got better.  After about a month, I didn't even want it any more.  So now I chew gum  And it's been 7 years.

So you *CAN* do it, if you want to badly enough.  You just got to find it within yourself to do so.

yeah I mistakenly bought the highest nicotine ones (platinum I think?) Something like 4.5% nicotine. Really hits the throat hard

The problem I had with disposables was depending on where I got them that the battery may have already been drained by the time I purchased them.

Not to get that far off topic, but may I ask which e-cig is the best to get off of nicotine and where to obtain it cheaply?
